Don't just install - play with the air pressure to get the most benefit

UPDATE: 5 years later I'm still happy with it. I didn't have to adjust the pressure at all. (rather unexpected) I had to lower the air pressure a bit to smooth out the flow of the pump, but it really works if you set it right!

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

perfect size in the air conditioner

Installed when upgrading the fresh water tank. Prevents the pump from starting when the valve opens. I can now run water for about 6 seconds before the pump has to turn on and the system has to reprime, and it can now turn off before the valve closes. Where before, it appeared as soon as you turned on water and worked until the valve closed. Much better!

Won't hold air pressure

After reading the reviews I assumed that many people who had problems with this unit trusted the initial air pressure setting but then did NOT wait a few minutes and then check. again to see if he REALLY took the pressure. It's not like this. And if it holds some air pressure, it's probably random PSI - some kind of flexible airbag. The charge drops from 30psi to zero in seconds - much faster than any recoil pad can be screwed on - as if it were the real "solution" to setting PRECISE air…

Quiet water pipe. stop knocking

I was able to stop the rattling water pipes in my RV. That works great. Absorbs vibrations in the tank chamber. The installation depends entirely on the position and mounting of the water pump of the particular motorhome. It can be a simple 5 minute install. In my case I had to cut a piece of molding to fit. . There was an hour to get it. Another problem is the initial pressure setting. The instructions are vague and don't really give details on how to fill the tank. I ended up using a bicycle…

I purchased this accumulator with the Shurflo 4008-101-E65 Revolution water pump. Shurflo 4008 is a bypass pump. The first page of the Installation and Operation Manual (you can download it online) "Installation Manual" says "No battery required with bypass pumps". See also page 1 "Prepare to install" - Battery not required (bold). I went ahead and installed this battery. It seems to be working - I can get 10-12 ounces of tap water, flowing slowly, before the pumps kick in. Note: The battery…

Smooth pump operation.

My water pump on wheels worked and stopped, worked and stopped, repeated. After this storage tank was installed, the pump ran long enough to pressurize and shut down the system. The water pump is quieter because it doesn't run as often and gradually stops. This helped eliminate water hammer from water pipes. This is a built in pressurized bladder tank that adds cushioning to your system. This worked for me. Please read the instructions as the tank is shipped without air (unpressurized). Be sure

The perfect addition to any camper!

I had some problems with the C class van. The "popping" and low demand combined with a pulsation at high demand and then we had hot water from the cold taps a few times. Ironically, I traced it back to the water heater. The water heater must have an air gap that acts as a buffer or accumulator. If you're jumping like crazy on bad roads, that air gap can dispel any symptoms. As I read about the causes and fixes, I found that adding such a battery can fix the problem. I already had a Shurflo…
