We got this tamper mainly for potatoes and also for freshly squeezed oranges and while this tamper is good enough for potatoes it's not very practical for something harder like oranges and the main reason for that is its sharp edges and narrow ones handles. They really dig into your palms if you try harder and it gets uncomfortable very quickly. In terms of build quality, it is excellent with its sturdy and thick stainless steel construction, with no bending, and its hinge design allows you to put a lot of effort into it. It's about compressive strength. However, due to the narrow shape of the handle, your hands will hurt much earlier before you can exert maximum force. And for that reason I only give 3 stars.
