After a month and a half I still have problems with this device. I bought this printer because it had a rear paper feed which allowed me to change paper easily and because it promised to be more economical by reducing the frequency of buying expensive cartridges like I do with my Canon Pixma did. Physical setup was easy - clear instructions are clear, pictures showing what to do are helpful and as long as you follow them you'll be fine. . All you have to do is remove the packaging from the inside, plug it in, fill the ink tanks, remove the little orange thing holding the printheads in place, load the printheads and put in some paper. But it's not ready to use yet. You must download and install the HP Easy Start software installer. This includes a huge 237.6MB download from their unbearably slow website. Then comes the tricky part. This is a wireless only printer and you will need to connect your computer to the printer via Wi-Fi to complete the setup process. The first two suggested methods didn't work, even though I followed the instructions exactly. I ended up calling their technical hotline. After playing around with the phone tree for some time and waiting for an answer, a support rep walked me through the process. It took 45 minutes to set it up. The only way that worked was to connect my computer directly to the printer using a special printer USB drive I happened to have; Well, because they didn't anticipate including it in the printer. Others also had difficulties with this step. After printing three pages, the message "Printhead problem" appeared on the display. I followed the instructions in the help and the warning went away. After a few more pages, the error message came back and the printer stopped printing. I called the tech support number and after a few minutes of waiting, contacted the representative. After dealing with my problem, he admitted that he had not received any information on how to solve the problem other than following the instructions in the help. His only recommendation was to return the printer to Revane. Given the time spent so far and the extreme hassle of packing and returning the car, I looked for another solution. After much discussion, he agreed to allow me to send two replacement printheads to see if that solved the problem. Arrived in about 10 days. After installation, the printhead problem reappeared after printing seven consecutive pages. The error icon disappears and the print function starts again when you open the printer and click on each printhead, turn the printer off and on again. Such a pain! Overall there are a few good design features - the ability to see ink levels through small supply tanks visible from the front of the printer and the ease of refilling ink. On the other hand, the average print quality and the lightweight construction of the printer body/housing is not what you would expect from such an expensive printer. It takes a long time to print a single page and there is a lot of "sanding" before the sheet of paper is pulled down. The printer also has no document feeder for copying or scanning. Therefore, each scan must be performed individually.
