The filter seemed to work fine during maintenance but when I removed it from the cap at the next oil change it fell into pieces. Luckily it looked undamaged up to this point, so I don't think anything got into the engine's oil passages. Now I buy one of the most expensive German brands.

This filter and o-ring were obviously old. The o-ring appeared to be brittle and ruptured, resulting in a massive oil leak that squirted oil into the engine bay of my 2016 528xi. Bottom line, BMW charged $312 to replace a new O-ring, clean out the engine and chassis bay, and replace the oil-soaked belt. This item was clearly old and should not have been sold. Attention buyers!

A few months after changing to this oil filter kit, an oil leak occurred. Oil has leaked from the threaded part of the oil filter housing. The O-ring that comes with the product installed in this area has become worn and hard. This may be the reason. After replacing with a set of MANN oil filters, no oil leaked out. You should not buy this product.

Package 2! Great filter. As you can see it comes with two rings that you need around the filter and a metal washer that replaces the washer on the oil drain hole. It fits my 2007 BMW 328i coupe perfectly! Use a different oil at the next oil change. By the way, after hearing a lot of good reviews, I bought oil from the German brand Liqui Moly for this oil change. Also very satisfied with this.

These are genuine BMW/HU816X Mann filters at a great price. I don't follow BMW Long Life oil change intervals as I think 10,000 is too much for an oil change on a car I drive extensively so I stocked up and changed the oil to Castrol Edge 0w40 Euro Formula (made in Belgium, so 100% synthetic base material) every 5-6 thousand. I have no doubt these filters will last a full 10,000, but I wouldn't risk it.

so i had to order it twice the first time they just sent me a filter but it was a real filter with a good part number not for asian market as many said. But here's the problem, when I reissued it to return the first one I received two completely different items, although they look the same, the decals, part numbers and the actual labels on the filters are different. I'll keep you posted on how it holds up (can't be as bad as a fram, less than 1000 miles and it collapsed on its own)

Update: The product turned out to be really good and authentic. I took out the filter after 17,000 km (don't judge harshly, I didn't have time to change the oil), it seems to be holding up very well. Impressed! As for Revane, I've lost faith in him. They intentionally delay delivery for non-essential customers. It literally took over a week for the product to be in stock to receive our stock. And the boys are happy, only $15! Yes folks, they both cost money so not much to celebrate. It's a BMW approved part and it really fits and does its job perfectly. Overall it fits your car GREAT because you know it will be modified.
