good dealer option

Dealer only sells this part as part of a replacement hinge kit costing over $40. It's nice to get them separately because they regularly fail.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not bad

Works as intended on truck bodies and tailgates

I did some body work on my truck and didn't realize they took it off and never put it back on. My back door was rattling when I noticed. I bought it, put it on and everything has been quiet since then.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Nothing

Not recommended for body work

This was one of the worst products I have ever bought, one broke before installation and the other shattered after only a few doors being closed at the rear. Was a techie. It's been over 40 years and it's awful!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Doubtful

Worked great after we figured out how to type

They worked great once we figured out how to install them. There are no instructions, but the tailgate no longer rattles. You will now have to press and then release the latch to lower the tailgate, but this is normal.

Pros
  • . Delivery was very fast.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

They are working on a 2005 Chevrolet 1500.

The knocking problem is solved. They work. The rubber quality is not very suitable for automotive applications. Cracks and tears are already visible on the rubber and not just surface friction. They last for several years. Fits 2005 Chevrolet 1500.

Pros
  • Certificate GOLS
Cons
  • Appearance

Setting 5 seconds. As wanted and wanted.

I liked how easy they were to install and use. The design of this part is a mistake on the part of General Motors. They can also be easily knocked over. But they do the job as intended and keep the tailgate closed.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Save your body pants

Using this device to close the sharp hook on the tailgate was a bad Chevy idea. They can get lost in everyday use and you never know until you slip out the back door and hear your pants rip as they get snagged on the hook. So you have to use them or jump through the back door which is a bad idea for old people.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • So-so

Just before the warranty expired about a month

When I bought these for my 2001 GMC Sierra Extended Cab I was initially very happy but after about a month I noticed that my tailgate rattled and when I looked , I found the bumpers had disintegrated and the rubber had stretched to the point where they wouldn't stay in place or not at all and even one was missing. I think you get what you pay for. and of course the same, i was outside of the return date, no replacement provided, i'm not sure how much they cost from the retailer but i'm sure…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Almost never
