250 Watt Speedball Photo Emulsion Flood Bulb (004518) Review

As soon as I turned this bulb on it flashed and then never came back on again. Pretty frustrating that it's not eligible for return. Would definitely not buy again.

This product is actually an Eiko Photoflood bulb, not at all made by or associated with Speedball at all. My bulb arrived intact, but the box had clearly been opened before since the lid was creased where it had been opened. If the bulb is touched with bare hands, it will drastically shorten the life of the bulb, and since the box had been opened, I can safely assume it was handled at some point. There were also deep scratches all over the bulb.(Purchased from Primegoods2)

We bought this as a back up bulb. Just opened it to use it and it's broken. Unfortunately we didn't open it in time to return or exchange and are now stuck with a broken bulb. Check your bulb when you get it to make sure it wasn't broken in transit.

#1 These are Eiko light bulbs (though the stick on label does say "Speedball" #2 The 1st bulb burned out immediately. The other works fine and is still working.

I ordered two bulbs after reading the reviews on Best Buy. Sure enough, the first one I tried blew out immediately, but the second one has been holding up. They are supposed to average three hours, so you'll want a spare handy anyway so you're not suddenly in the dark.
