These stones are GORGEOUS! I love dark stones, but so often they are dull; these have an insane amount of flash and color. The square cut ones are lovely, but the round- brilliant cut?- are fabulous. The sparkle is great. From some angles, they just look like smoky quartz, but turn just a bit and the blue and purple flashes come out. The metal is non-allergenic- I've been wearing them for two days without any problems and I'm very sensitive to metals.

I love rainbow quartz and other stones that have color play, like opal. These were a nice large stone which, I really appreciate since I tend to favor larger (gaudy even) jewelry. This makes for a larger more noticeable surface. Seriously I don't know what the point of wearing smaller ones would be since you can't see much color play when you go smaller. FWIW, I got the 4mm size, which I usually use for my extra hole. I have some black pearl earrings that these will go well with, sort of complementing the iridescence of the pearls. I like the sparkly dark stones.The square version is noticeably larger than the round version, roughly another mm. This means that if you wanted to line up multiples of increasing size, this might work nicely.

I get asked about these earrings pretty often so that's a pretty resounding endorsement of a relatively inexpensive pair of earrings. I usually refer to them as mystic quartz to friends and family though.

I bought these because of the color, and was a little disappointed when I received them. The color in the image IS NOT as rich or vibrant as the actual earring.I’m keeping them because they weren’t expensive, but if you’re looking for that nice rainbow oil slick effect, it misses the mark.

The earing backing is small and doesn't support the heavy earing. My fiancé has lost the tiny backings a couple times already.
