JOY TO USE IS GOOD THEFT PROTECTION

In fact, it turned out to be more durable and of better quality than I expected, although given the price, my expectations were quite low. I've used it extensively as a theft deterrent in hotel rooms on my travels this summer - the only problem was finding something safe to secure! I want to stress that this is ONLY a deterrent - I think you're going to have a hard time finding anything really reliable when that thing can probably be broken off by someone determined - not to mention your hard…

Good lock of its type

Good quality version of this type of product to prevent accidental theft (no product of this type will bother a professional or a person with a bolt cutter, saw or drill and once). The cable rotates on the lock for best positioning. Easy to install code. It makes a very pleasant click when closed. At least for my slot, the position of the code ends up parallel to the table, making it harder to read, but I just base my code on the numbers in the next column, which are easier to read…

design flaw! That does not work!

Pros: Price Ease of use User-changeable combo High quality construction No ridiculous lock mode reviews show this lock has worked for others but not me. I've tried 2 of these locks on 2 laptops (Dell and HP), 2 printers (both HP) and an external hard drive (Seagate) and they will NONE of them secure. The T-bar that is inserted into the slot is very loose in the locked position. Loosening wouldn't be a problem if the push button retraction pins were the same length as a T-bar, but they aren't…

Good. Not for the new XPS 13.

Feels solid. functions. Note. NOT suitable for the 2015 Dell XPS 13 computer as Dell (in its infinite wisdom) used the Noble Wedge Blocking Port instead. that although several review sites say that the XPS 2015 has a Kensington lock port, the lock port is actually too small. This lock does not fit. Dell sells XPS 13 Noble Wedge locks on its website, so this is a must-have design. I ordered a Noble Wedge lock from Revain and it works great. However, this product is good. I use my two to extend…

great product best in category notebook accessories

I was very unsure when I received the first time. On most locks, when a button is pressed, the center lock rotates so that it can be inserted into the slot. This block removes the outer pins at the push of a button, and the center doesn't rotate. It was what I hated at first and it's not what I love. You can set your unlock code, and when you enter it, you don't even have to press a button. Plug in and twist. Once it clicks, it locks into place. Then you shuffle the code and you're done. Works…

To install the combo you need a tiny screwdriver

You can choose the color, so it's nice. This sendt resembles a real Kensington lock in design and strength. You need a tiny screwdriver to set a combination that many people won't have. You can buy a set of small screwdrivers at many dollar stores. You don't need a high quality screwdriver here - most people will never need this screwdriver again. The lock is easy to use. The plastic coated wire is 6 feet long (too long in my opinion). As always, the thing wants to roll up and down when stowed…

Cons
  • The cable is shorter than other kits

Continuous. Easy to use. The ideal solution not only for theft.

I am very grateful that such a lock exists and even more glad that it is so easy to use. I was able to set the lock to the combination I wanted without my IT guys having to do it for me! And that is a real achievement! Now I can put my student's laptop within sight of my living room so he can't get up at night and spend hours watching Netflix instead of sleeping. And the cord is long enough to put it where I want it! I really wish I didn't have to type a combination to block it. However, this…

Very good for the price

I use these in a retail store to protect laptop displays. It feels strong and the lock seems secure. The numbers have a positive click when rotated. Some combo cables reset too easily, resulting in an accidental reset to an unknown combination. This isn't difficult at all, but impossible without a small flathead screwdriver. Simply insert the screw, turn a quarter turn, install the new combination, and then back off the screw. The only problem I foresee is the T-end. Some slots on laptops…
