JOY TO USE IS GOOD THEFT PROTECTION
In fact, it turned out to be more durable and of better quality than I expected, although given the price, my expectations were quite low. I've used it extensively as a theft deterrent in hotel rooms on my travels this summer - the only problem was finding something safe to secure! I want to stress that this is ONLY a deterrent - I think you're going to have a hard time finding anything really reliable when that thing can probably be broken off by someone determined - not to mention your hard drive can be erased (and your data with it).
