Works out of the box. Hot!

The product worked immediately after installation, no problems during installation. However, it gets very hot. I was getting network errors when migrating my old server (37TB) data to the new server and I wasn't sure if it was the old server, the new server or this device. I ended up blowing a USB fan on the SFP+ ports. my switch. That chilled him very much. All of the data leaked shortly after, so I'm not sure if that data is enough to suggest it's overheating. With normal use of the serverโ€ฆ

Two ordered; A DOA. Have ordered a third. crossed fingers

I ordered a pair to connect my Ubiquiti Networks UniFi USW-PRO-24-POE to my upstairs USW-PRO-48_POE. The RJ45 cable is less than 30m. I keep getting "Rx errors" on the UniFi controller. But the lights will flash as if there is a signal. So I did some more troubleshooting and tried connecting one end to SFP+ and the other directly to RJ45. One SFP+ module worked (UniFi showed 10Gbps uplink on 24POE and 1Gbps downlink on 48POE), but the other got an Rx error. So I returned. DOA one and orderedโ€ฆ

High failure rate, best for networking products

I bought these transceivers for over $600 to use in Unifi fiber optic switches. All 16 units failed in one way or another, either due to DOA or over time. I would not buy RJ45 Ethernet 10Gb transceivers from this brand again. It turns out that they overheat, leading to their failure.

Works with Dell PowerConnect 5500 series

I have a stack of PowerConnect 5500 series switches and need a 10GB copper port. Received this and plugged it into the SFP+ slot. Came right up.
