Cable is short/hard

When removing the cap, the tip twists around the cap It ties easily When twisting the cap, it works just as well as OEMUpdate - the cable snapped after a few uses - a waste of money

Fits Snug and Passed Smog

Cap fits my 09 4Runner. I couldn't get past the smog and found my gas cap was loose and broken. So I called the dealer and they asked for $35. So I found this and read the good reviews. I connected my truck to the scanner and it passed the test. Smog test done and passed. Good cap and does its job.

Cord short/hard

with cap off cord twists slightly around cap tightens when you twist cap works just as well as OEMUpdate - tether broke after a few uses - waste of money

Suitable for Toyota Tacoma 2006

I got this to replace the factory gas cap on my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. It fit perfectly and was easy to install and the check engine light did not come on to indicate a problem with the gas cap.

Try the simplest solution first.

Fixed Check Engine light issue on dashboard. A computer check revealed an air leak in the system. The dealer charged at least $200 for an air leak test + the cost of parts and labor. A new gas cap solved the problem.

At first I thought it was bullshit as it doesn't close!

I had engine light and other lights on my '06 4Runner, the first thing I checked was the gas cap and it was properly closed although it came off fairly easily!
