Description of ACDelco 334 2529A Professional Alternator Remanufactured

Remanufactured using consistent quality processes; not just rebuilt. Alternators use high-quality bearings with high-temp lubricant and double-lipped rubber seals, reducing friction, vibration, and noise. Rotors and stators are electronically tested and then sealed with secondary insulating coating to help prevent shorts. Performance-tested and inspected to ensure they meet your expectations for quality design and component specifications.

Installed on '05 Silverado 2500HD Diesel. Replaced an AD230 alternator with a 105 amp alternator that was OEM and had 200,000 miles, probably 1/2 of that mile when towing a trailer. This remanufactured DR44 AD244 alternator rated 92 amps at idle with the electrical system on, the OEM alternator rated 55 amps under the same conditions. Fitment was cramped, body larger than stock, but it fit, it was an option for this truck. Electrical connections were easy - plug and play. This alternator…

Pros
  • Rotors and stators are electronically tested and then sealed with a secondary insulating coating to prevent short circuits.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
