Terrible. worst tool i have bought

I bought this tool to install recessed lights in drywall. It's similar to the tool I used to install the lighting in our last house. This version was marked by failures. I tried cutting holes several times and each time the screws holding the cutters fell out, damaging the drywall and leaving bigger holes than I intended. After the first failure, I stopped tightening the bolts every few turns. In the end, this didn't work because the supplied hex wrench was a bit too small and the adjusting…

Not suitable for drywall

I bought this to cut recessed holes in the ceiling. The fact that it was adjustable worked well because the holes had to be just over 6 inches, but the tool doesn't work very well in terms of cutting drywall. I have a powerful cordless drill, but it's still sticking. And despite the plastic trash can, the dust came out of the drywall and went everywhere. Also, during the process, the blades didn't want to stay in the cut all the time. I ended up having to scrape the edges of the holes with a…

Great concept but not in practice

I read many reviews of this drill before deciding to buy it. The price is right for something, I can choose the hole size I wanted. From all the feedback, here's what I did to get it right, in addition to reading the instructions in the box: - Make sure both blades are equidistant from center and the screw is seated snugly in the slots - Pull tighten the blade nuts - drill slowly - apply pressure . I can't say it didn't work. I just couldn't finish the first hole because the center drill kept…

Enough for home use

I bought this hole saw to drill 36 4 inch holes for recessed lighting in several rooms of my house. The cutter works great. You just have to be careful to push it slowly into the drywall. They are locked in 1/2 inch increments, but that wasn't a problem for my particular application. The dust cover is very effective at keeping out dust, but is cheaply made (plastic blister packaging) and tears easily (hence the 4 stars). Mine came with 2 dust shields which were put to good use before each one…

I am glad that I bought this product.

What struck me about this tool is that it is adjustable. I like the idea of being able to cut 4-1/4 holes and 6-1/4 holes for lighting. When I received the tool I was glad I had made a test cut on a piece of drywall before making the final cuts. When I adjusted the blade width to 4-1/4 to match my tape measure, the opening was slightly larger since the blades were facing out. I had to adapt to this during test cuts and finally achieved the perfect result. . I think I set the cutting area at…

Useless! in Power Drill Parts & Accessories

I kick myself in the butt every time I bust because I want to save some money and buy something made in C_ _ _ _ _ ! Will I ever know that everything that is made there is pure garbage. GARBAGE! I've used an adjustable hole saw in my shop for the last few years but sold it when I retired. I needed a hole saw to cut 12 holes for the lanterns. The product looked like it could go through so many holes but as always I was wrong. It's adjustable in increments, but I had to deviate a bit from the 6…
