The sizing on THESE shorts is way off for larger sizes. Through trial and error, I found that even though I ordered my usual size, these shorts were too tight around my waist and thighs .The protective padding is minimal and doesn't provide adequate protection for high-speed riding. The only positive is the quality of the material, but it's not enough to make up for the poor fit and lack of protection. I would not recommend these shorts for serious automotive riders..

I really like these shorts and will probably buy another pair. The fit is comfortable and the pads cover my bones well. I haven't found any other shorts with a high waist. I slowly fell onto my side climbing a steep path with very loose rock and felt nothing. I just got up and kept climbing. I'm glad the shorts did their job. The suede is ok and effective, but I wish it was a bit thicker for my delicate butt, but maybe it would be too bulky and less comfortable to walk on. So far it has worked…
