Fantastic shoes do me good

This is my second pair. Great shoes especially if you have a wide foot. I ordered half a size larger than normal wide shoes. Comfort is overwhelming!

Pros
  • The best shoes for training and marathons. Very durable, the best alternative to hockey.
Cons
  • I like the wide toe of Altra shoes, but this model isn't deep enough for me. i give them back

Excellent cushioning.

The shoes are 1/2 size bigger for me, I took 10.5 when my usual size is 11. They are very comfortable and help prevent knee pain but wear out quickly so I only use them for long walks/jogs.

Pros
  • Very comfortable and great fit
Cons
  • Not universal, only suitable for road running.

Really good. Not ideal.

Altra saved my knees and back with zero drops. These shoes are really good but a bit heavier and not as soft as I expected. However, I plan to train longer distances and I think they will be great for that. Also, the price was perfect.

Pros
  • It's good for running and exercising, I just bought it; Not sure how long it will last but overall the shoes are very good quality.
Cons
  • Much too big, gave it to my son-in-law

Great place to wear!

I have Sartor bursitis and after doing some research I decided to try the Altra running shoes. There is a lot of space in the sock. I can even wear toe pads and don't feel like my toes are rubbing against the inside of the shoe. The fit is exactly as expected, but go to the Altra website and download the sizing chart. This is the best way to choose your shoe size. It has ample cushioning and a snug fit in the heel and arch. These aren't minimalist shoes, if that's what you want. But these are…

Pros
  • Lightweight construction for comfort and ease when running.
Cons
  • Lack of sole durability.

Great, comfortable shoe but short lifespan

I really liked these shoes for my recovery and long runs in Boston, but I started hurting myself after about 240 miles in them and was surprised at how worn the soles were already. By the way, I only weigh 145 pounds and I'm 5 feet 7 inches tall. I can usually walk at least 350 miles in other similar shoes (with high cushioning). It would be great for a hiking shoe or something, but it's sad to spend so much money on training shoes for such a small run.

Pros
  • These are lightweight, comfortable shoes for running, walking, or just wearing around town.
Cons
  • Inability to use on rough terrain.

I prefer Escalante 2

They are not as tight as my Escalante 2 Altra. I bought them because they are all black and I wanted a casual alternative. My feet don't like them as much as the Escalantes.

Pros
  • These shoes offer maximum stability, making them ideal for people with overpronation or flat feet.
Cons
  • Minimal ankle support.

My favorite road bike shoes

This is my second pair and they are still my favorite road shoe. I have over 600km on it. The upper still looks good, but the sole is definitely finished! My only complaint is that it's overpriced when sold at regular retail.

Pros
  • Exactly what I was hoping for from these shoes. Beautiful appearance and very comfortable.
Cons
  • Unattractive design.

cool shoes - my new review

I'm a regular runner, not athletic or semi-athletic, so these shoes were completely different and new to me. I really like the zero fall aspect as it seems to improve my form and SIGNIFICANTLY reduces knee pain. The pillow is good too, which ultimately means I can walk more days a week without pain. I wasn't expecting this, but Zero Drops definitely work better on my calves, which by definition is pretty obvious. These Nike sneakers got used to it in a few minutes because they are much wider…

Pros
  • good value
Cons
  • Not slip resistant.

I thought I would buy New Balance but it seems to be working.

I'm a little disappointed that I thought it was New Balance that was recommended to me. took them for walks on the paths, thereby depriving me of the opportunity to give them back. I was disappointed that they were too small and didn't give me the pain free walking I expected. But since my optimism prevented me from returning them, I tried playing around with them to see if some adjustments could help them fit better. I made two mods that make them tolerable and they mostly work now but for…

Pros
  • I love this product. The only shoe that fits my wide feet and offers maximum comfort.
Cons
  • Poor ventilation leads to sweaty feet.

Altra is getting a little cramped

Firstly, the carrier did a great job and I received the shoes as expected. I've read in other reviews that the Altra shoes have been made a bit narrower in the forefoot and toe and I have to agree. Although I bought the Paradigm version (which I had before and LOVED it!), this version of the same shoe is noticeably narrower across the width of my foot and puts pressure over the pinky toe that the other version didn't have. Still a good shoe with more toe room than others, but that space is…

Pros
  • Top shoe brand and great shoes to wear. comfortable
Cons
  • All new Altras shoes are not as comfortable and comfortable as their previous shoes.

Very comfortable shoes!

I have a bump on my foot that can be painful in regular shoes, so I usually buy shoes that are half a size too wide to allow more room for my feet. I was a bit worried that this shoe didn't come in wide sizes but decided to give it a try after reading the reviews and looking for a wider toe box. I wasn't disappointed at all. This shoe is just as comfortable as other brands of wide leg shoes and I had no issues with bunion pain. The only thing I will do differently is order my normal size next…

Pros
  • fast delivery
Cons
  • Non-flexible outsole.

I wanted to please them, but I couldn't

I have many pairs of different Altra shoes - Instinct, Torin, Timp. That was the first time I got tired of Paradigm. In theory, the idea of a bar to prevent overpronation sounds good, but I didn't like the feel of the shoe when I put it on. It seemed too tight and restrictive. Tried walking around the house with them for a few days but decided to return.

Pros
  • I just got them but so far very comfortable
Cons
  • Too heavy, weighs down the running step.

had to come back to my review.

Looks like Altra is slimming down their shoes now. They started out with very wide socks, and now they're narrowing them.

Pros
  • Great fit, TTS. I no longer have knee pain when I run long distances. Light and comfortable.
Cons
  • too small and cramped

It feels like they were made just for me.

The refined Altra Paradigm 4.5 shoes perfectly fit your foot. It encapsulates without binding the foot. The cushion allows you to feel the ground in detail while providing traction when thrusting your stride and preventing any jarring or shaking upon contact with the ground. The padding construction and layers provide a cushioned feel that expands in compression during your upward movement cycle. Perhaps best described as the Oubleck stride, you never lose control, balance, or strength…

Pros
  • Breathable mesh upper keeps feet cool and dry during intense workouts.
Cons
  • The outsole started peeling off after minimal use.

fall apart in a month

I have five pairs of Altras. My favorite shoe of all time but I think they sold the brand or do I just have a crappy pair? the sole comes off after a month of wear? I didn't have this problem with my other Altras of a different model. Don't buy this ALTRA Men's ALM1948G Paradigm 4.5 Road Running Shoe. So far I like all the other models.

Pros
  • Although Altra has moved on to marketing the latest version, I like this one.
Cons
  • Not suitable for high-intensity training.

The size of the new version of ALTRA shoes is small. My foot is measured at 9US. My last pair of ALTRAs, the Provision 3.5, was half a size smaller. Even though the size has gone up to a 9.5, my toe was still stuck to the end of the boot and it was too tight in the midfoot. This time I ordered 10US and they fit perfectly.

Pros
  • walk a lot My son is wearing the second pair
Cons
  • Uneven heel padding.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best hiking and running shoes I've ever worn.

I love everything about this shoe. I bought 3 pairs of 4.5 locally but they are discounted. I tried the new 5.0 and didn't like it so I bought 3 Paris on Ebay for $50 from local retailers to upgrade to 5.5. I have neuropathy due to nerve damage in my back from the ruptured disc. They have a wide toe box and the zero drop takes a lot of pressure off my toe. Most shoes have a heel that is higher than the toe, like a ramp. These are different. You should be aware that some of you might find it…

Pros
  • Made of high quality material and a rubber outsole, these running shoes are incredibly strong and durable.
Cons
  • Bad customer support.

Excellent running shoes.

100 miles. Easy rolling. Provides good stability in overpronation. The last pair did 350 miles before being swapped out. Running halfway. This is my sixth pair of Altrs. Will probably last longer than any of my pairs.

Pros
  • The cushioned insole provides excellent support and comfort during long runs or workouts.
Cons
  • Not made from high quality materials.

Pleasant in my rating

Excellent quality and the right shape for the comfort of the foot. When I needed to buy a second pair of shoes, I bought a second pair of the exact same shoes, they are not only comfortable for walking but also for riding.

Pros
  • big toe slightly
Cons
  • Limited color options.

Worst sneakers I've ever worn

When I wore them around town and to work, I found that these shoes hurt my feet a bit, but I thought maybe I need to work in them. I wore them on long work weekends when I was up 17 hours a day. By the end of the first day my feet, shins, buttocks and lower back were in terrible pain and it was getting worse every day. I couldn't imagine walking in these shoes. I've never hated running shoes. I went back to the Escalante which I just like better overall.

Pros
  • great show
Cons
  • Not waterproof.
