Cuts great but breaks easily

I bought two of these CNC routers to make some simple cuts in plywood. The first bit broke during the first board. Checked the machine, changed settings to slower speed, shallower depth of cut, etc. The second drill broke just before the 2nd board was cut. The same broken in half. Now I babysit this machine in the beginning, it takes me an hour to cut with an expensive nozzle and 40 minutes with a cheap $5 nozzle. So be careful.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Clean cut but quickly becomes brittle and dull

As others have said, these compression bits can easily break if you're not careful. I broke the first one I had, but none have broken since. I cut 1/2" birch plywood with them and found that they tarnish fairly quickly given the cost and the "super hard" finish. Once they dull they produce enough pauses as the bit transitions from vertical to down. I will try the cheaper holzy and whiteside compression bits to see how they work.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Bad Compression Nozzle

I got this nozzle for my CNC machine in hopes that the compression nozzle would leave clean edges on the top and bottom of the material and save me a lot of sanding compared to the spiral nozzle I was using . Unfortunately, this bit left a rough edge on both sides, doubling the grinding time. The whole point of a compression cap is to leave a clean surface on both sides, which is why they are so expensive. Even the Amana website says this bit is recommended for plywood. I don't recommend at…
