Love this accessory best of all power tool parts and accessories

This accessory gets used more than any other I own. The shear angle at the cutting edge is a good compromise compared to the much more expensive twist drill. Bearing both top and bottom makes it very versatile for pattern routing. This makes it easy to always mow "downhill" to avoid grain cracks. The 1/2" shank and 3/4" cutting diameter prevent the drill bit from bending when cutting wood up to 1" thick. If the carbide gets dull, I'll buy another one.

Pros
  • Height of cut (B) 1-1/4
Cons
  • Very expensive

Good choice for pattern milling

I do pattern milling quite often on my router table setup. The sole reasons I use the Amana 47096 flush cutter are that the larger 3/4-diameter cutter stays sharper longer, the beveled cutting edges cut smoother with less chipping, and the top and bottom bearings allow you to flip the job and go with it cutting Proper grain orientation of the wood to prevent splitting and tearing. I use it with a Porter Cable 7518 router and it cuts deep with ease. If you're routing patterns, consider this…

Pros
  • diameter (D) 3/4
Cons
  • old

Fixed end grain problem

I bought this cutter because I was frustrated with my standard end cutter and had end grain problems. I'm trying to make a small gift for my granddaughter's birthday in May and just ruining work. Despite trying every trick I could think of, I found it very difficult to cut the template glued to a 3/4" thick walnut. I even had a couple episodes where the shank just broke when I tried, only 1/16th inches or less.I ordered and received this nozzle last Saturday and I started using it before it…

Pros
  • Overall length (L) 3-3/4
Cons
  • Not bad but...
