As the name suggests, the threaded hole on the head of this broom does not mate well with standard broomsticks. I tried it first with a plastic broom handle and it barely screwed on. It seemed to hold up normally, but when I started using it the little handle in the head broke off. Luckily it didn't ruin my broomstick as only a small piece of the threaded end broke off. I went to our local Big Box hardware store to find a handle for this brush. I assumed a mop or broom handle would do, which turned out to be too big when I bought it. I had a smaller mop handle at home from a mop I no longer used and it fitted perfectly. It's definitely smaller, so take that into account when looking for a grip. This product should really be called a replacement brush as it has no extension cord and is practically useless without it. My guess is that this way you keep shipping costs down (and you don't need a long pen box). But the marketing isn't very clear on this, and there's even a photo showing a pen. This is a good little brush. Perfect for our small enclosed patio. It's soft around the edges so hitting the walls doesn't cause damage, and it's soft enough for our slate floor.
