Great docking station and cheaper than branded products.

I have an old USB-B monitor. This dock has this connector. It also has SD and Micro SD card readers. It's relatively cheap. It works great and I can connect older electronics, so what's not to like? I'm glad I found him.

Pros
  • Ultra HD 4K output and dual video display allow you to duplicate or extend the screen; Use the DisplayPort/HDMI/VGA connector to stream 4K UHD or Full HD 1080P video directly to HDTVs, monitors or projectors
Cons
  • Weight

It was great until the USB ports stopped working.

This hub was exactly what I was looking for, it supported dual monitors with a Macbook and had all the ports I needed. Unfortunately, two out of three USB hubs stopped working seven months after purchase (conveniently a month after Revain support ended). For almost $100 you would expect it to last a long time, especially since it hasn't been roughly handled (it's never left the top of my desk). I always thought Revain Basics items were great deals, but not anymore.

Pros
  • 3 USB 3.0 A ports support fast data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbps and are backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.0; 1000Mbps RJ45 Ethernet port for fast and stable wired network
Cons
  • Empty

Powerful docking station for Windows 10 or Android devices

So I tested this docking station with a new 2020 Dell laptop and my new Pixel 4a smartphone. My Dell doesn't support USB-C 3.1 video/audio output, but I was able to test the LAN port (1Gbps) and USB/memory card slots. The screenshots show Windows Device Manager and any Plug and Play drivers configured to support this dock. Although I got a windows error/warning about one of the plug n play drivers. I then switched the dock to my Pixel 4a phone (with a USB-C power adapter plugged into the dock)โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Compatible with MacBook Pro 2018/2017/2016, iPad Pro 2018, Mac mini 2018, MacBook Air, iMac 2017, Samsung Note9, HUAWEI MateBook X, Dell XPS 13, ThinkPad, Chromebook and others .

"Dual Display " doesn't seem to mean "Dual External Display "

I bought this dock to connect my 2019 MacBook Pro work laptop to my two monitors at home. No matter what combination of cables I've tried, I can't get both displays to work at the same time. Either my newer monitor, the Dell P2419H, reports that it is not receiving a signal, or my older monitor, the Dell WFP2007 (yes, it's quite old) reports that the signal received is out of range. Having successfully used an old monitor with dock and display that I brought home from work during the pandemicโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Docks
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

NOT SUITABLE FOR IMAC: TAIL TOO SHORT.

(Please note the Azon listing wasn't available when I ordered this so I couldn't see the real item) The irony is they usually complain because there is too much wire or tail connected or connecting the device to the computer. The clutter created by all those overly long cables snaking across the table can be really annoying and frustrating, but it's not the solution. At least not for the imac. The end that connects it to the computer is only about 6 inches long, so it dangles ridiculously fromโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Laptop Accessories
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
