Now I can do things I couldn't do before.

I had to buy this because Apple sucks they keep changing port types and it gives me a headache because they aren't all the same.

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • Might hurt

I have a new computer with a high-speed USB Type-C connector. I wanted to use a Western Digital external hard drive with it and this adapter worked great! The small end plugs into a Type-C USB port on the computer, while the other end allows the two USB ports to be connected together. Works perfectly!

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Performance speed

Works as it should.

I got his USB "C" to USB 3 adapter because of the 3 inch cable, which puts less strain on the USB C port on the computer than short, short connections without cables. Does the job like most Revain Basics products. Makes it easy to use my non-C USB sticks and connect my Google Pixel XL phone to my laptop (all Google Pixels have USB C).

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Using this adapter with a MacBook Pro will burn your peripherals

I used this adapter with my MacBook Pro and toasted both the HoloLens and Audio Workstation from Native Instruments . It may not be. Products are defective, but note that MBP will output 20V instead of 5V when plugged in! The exchange cost me 3k. Please don't let this happen to you.

Pros
  • Useful for more than it's intended purpose
Cons

It works very well!

My friend just bought a new Mac Book Pro but it doesn't have USB ports. We needed something quick for him to use on his radio show this weekend. We ended up getting something cheap as we had to pay for next day shipping. It arrived on time and was exactly what he needed. We planned to get better quality but it's not necessary because it's perfect! We'll probably buy another one so we can have one at home and one in his backpack.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • So-so

This USB adapter _does not_ conform to the strict USB Type-C and/or USB 3.1 standards. This is a common problem now that many devices now use the same port and connector design. The catch is that there are several different standards that use the same shape. No problem as long as format standards are followed, but _many_ manufacturers don't. This adapter will work with some of your devices, but not with more sophisticated ones. I tried connecting an external SSD to it and it didn't work. Tests…

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Works good (iMac, Thunderbolt 3, CD/DVD burner, keyboard)

I bought this adapter cable to connect a USB 2 optical drive to an iMac using one of the Thunderbolt 3 ports writes CDs and DVDs without connection problems. Five stars because "it just works" and Apple's version of this cable is much more expensive. ---------- Update (July 2018): No problem to report, still works after upgrading macOS from Sierra to High Sierra. Update (January 2019): No issue to report. Update (February 2019): Bought a second adapter for use with wired keyboards. So far there

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not the best

Get this if you want to use your iPad as a laptop replacement!

I was in dire need of a keyboard and didn't want to spend that much on a wireless one although I still have it and I hope it's good will test it soon. But let me just say that the transition from USB Type-C to USB has been incredible. I'm using a Logitech keyboard right now as I type this and it's a regular wireless keyboard I've had for years and it works like a charm. Very simple, no installation required, at least for my device, and it works flawlessly without any lag. I sincerely believe…
