A little hard. made of wire

Very good wire but some say it is very stiff. I straightened mine, secured it with staples and hit it with a heat gun (gently). Still a little stiff, but at least it doesn't curl up on its own. For the price I would buy it again.

Pros
  • Strong surface
Cons
  • Poor repairability

Good wire, a bit stiff

Good quality wire BUT this material is not that flexible. It's not scary but can be a chore if you're new and have a good memory. I use it on my Lichtenberg fractal burner. It will loosen up a bit over time, so keep that in mind.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Only available in black

Old cable, color indicates UV damage to reel

Not sure how old this cable is. GT0-15 should not be 10 years old as indicated by color/UV damage. There is no way to ask the seller. Do not purchase until you are certain this cable is secure. I'm not sure if it's safe to use HIGH VOLTAGE! I don't want to burn down my house!

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Fairly good

Worst GTO I have ever bought or used

Worst GTO I have ever bought or used. It has an extra coating on the first layer which is totally hard making GTO inflexible which is dangerous when used on neon tubes as it can shatter your glass. And every time I cut up each piece and removed the protective layer, my hands literally bled. HORRIBLE DO NOT BUY THIS

  • New

Happy with purchase

Super sturdy as other reviewers said. I used a heat gun to remove part of the coil. Still tends to frizz, but not as much. I went ahead and got it (although some reviews were negative due to the stiffness of the wire) because I use it for a fractal burner. These things are pretty dangerous, so I wanted a wire that could safely handle high currents. As long as it works well

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Will not fit all

Great for boats but STIR

This has been the boat standard for RF antenna wiring for decades. For other uses, such as artistic wood burning, it's probably too harsh. EDIT - I used many miles of this wire many years ago. They must have a new supplier, this stuff is REALLY hard! I just stretched it all over the kitchen to straighten it out. A bit like fighting a giant slink :( It does what I need it for, but if you're not a boat I'd go with something more flexible.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Good high voltage cable. Very good insulation. But too hard for my use in Lichtenburg or fractal wood burning. I needed something more flexible for what I'm trying to achieve. This cable was on a small reel and when it was removed there was still a lot of memory in the wire. This was removed with heat and a work wire. When you buy something online, you just don't know exactly what you're buying until you get it. Everything is fine with the wire. It just wasn't right for what I wanted.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Works well for Lichtenberg burn-in, straightening trick.

Advertised as 14 gauge stranded wire with double thick insulation rated at 15,000 volts. Mentioned specifically in Lichtenberg's fairly popular wood stove building tutorial, I ordered it. To smooth it out, I wrapped it in the opposite direction for a few seconds, then pinned it straight and heated the insulation with a hair dryer, heating about a foot at a time, quickly moving the hair dryer back and forth. This has reduced the curl that wraps around the small spindle, but it remains stiff. A…
