💧 Enhance Water Quality with the AO Smith Under Filter System Review

Pretty easy installation. I didn't bother with the splitter that came with it, but it ended up ripping off the streams where it connected to my disconnect. I had to buy some other connecting parts but it wasn't a big problem. I used to have a different water filter on my faucet but it's gone now so I have more usable sink space.

The plastic hose is supplied in a 3" spool and is too stiff to fit the fittings properly causing leakage. Even after soaking in hot water, they didn't unwind far enough to insert the straight end into the fitting. I left them full length to get the print. I recommend replacing the material with something more pliable or making them straight rather than tightly wrapped like before. In addition to leaking taps, the taste of the water has also improved.

I chose this AO Smith reverse osmosis system because I wanted to install it myself and avoid the expense of hiring a plumber. I was able to install it myself but it was a bit of a hassle as the sink was so low but I managed. There was a slight leak when I first turned on the water, but after some adjustments I was able to use it with no further problems. I'm 74 years old and if I can do it, I believe anyone can! The instructions are very easy to follow. Tap water greatly improves the taste.

I have two of these installed in my home. One has been working great for a little over a month - good flow, no chlorine aftertaste etc. I'm very happy with it and really like that it uses a regular faucet instead of a separate faucet. The other was installed two weeks ago and went from a nice stream to a trickle in about a week. Firstly, this filter is manufactured by Aqausana and sold under the Aquasana brand as Clarium Direct Connect or the AO Smith brand. I don't have my own faucet with a water filter in my kitchen and I don't want to drill/install it, but use a normal faucet and connect a built-in cold water filter.
