Reduces scaling as claimed but not as easy to install.

I'm writing this review three and a half months after installation, enough time to get a good idea. The hardness of my municipal water supply is 17-18 GPG. I'm definitely seeing a significant reduction in scale build-up in hard water. It doesn't eliminate it completely but reduces it by 80-85% which is enough for me. Whole Home Chlorine Filter

I finally managed to install this plumber on my water softener circuit. I had an 8 year old (another MFR) that I recently removed and decided I NEED a chlorine filter. My old one was about 4ft and I wasn't sure I needed to replace him but after 8 years I felt like he should. Has worked flawlessly so far, does not form deposits, but is not a 100% remedy for water spots and rings.

I just bought a descaler to see if it works without buying the rest of the system. We have very hard water with a pH of 8.2. We live in Florida in a brand new house. The instructions also recommend purchasing a pre-filter from the same company at Lowes.
