💦 AquaClear Impeller Assembly: Enhancing Power Filter Performance Review

The impeller was loose in the packaging when I received it. My previous order got lost in the mail so second time is wonderful. I usually have to change mine every 6-12 months because my fish like to spit sand and other things around the filter and tear the impeller to pieces. I have a sponge intake but the impellers are not suitable for sand.

My filter broke the second time around and I didn't want to buy a new one. Read about the impeller and how it can often be the reason why aquaclears stop working. Put in a new impeller and my filter works like new again! So nice not to spend $100 on a brand new filter.

This balance bike works right out of the box. I had to use one from my new device to switch to my old device which stopped working. The fish were of course very happy that the pumping system was working again. So when I received it yesterday, I tried it this morning. It worked. I will now have a brand new block as a backup should I need one. This wheel saved me money from having to buy a whole new system.

We have a 40 gallon hatcher tank and an AquaClear 70 filter. We use a Neocardina shrimp tank. The water flow of the AquaClear 70 filter was too strong for our needs. We installed an AquaClear 50 impeller and the reduced water consumption is just what we need. Impellers 50 and 70 are the same. The difference is that the size 50 impeller has 4 blades and the size 70 impeller has 6 blades.

Received a replacement wheel assembly today and was very disappointed. I knew I was buying an item that was advertised as "used in good condition" but I wasn't expecting to receive a broken item. I really needed this product as my other one was making a terrible noise along with the engine so I don't have time to wait for a new one. I had to use it as I got it. Quality control at the Revain camp seems to be loosening up.

I thought this was a reaction to not buying a new filter. These things are expensive. Once I got that, I put it in my current filter. When I plug it in, the impeller sheds a white piece. Installation instructions should be included. Anyway, I feel like it was a waste of money. To update. Got a replacement and it worked flawlessly for 6 months. Without warning it broke again. And I'm not sure why. Now all I have to do is buy a new filter.

Aquaclear filters are by far my favourite. I panicked a bit when the impeller broke because I didn't want to buy a whole new filter. I stumbled across this and it fixed my filter in minutes. Sometimes a new filter will wear out until it cracks / forms a film on the impeller, but there was no noise with the new impeller. Even if your once-quiet filter suddenly makes a grinding noise, you need one of these. Now I have one on hand so I can replace it immediately when it wears out.

Good. I have 3 aquaclear 70s on the back of my fancy gold tank and I bought them 7 years ago and they have been great reliable units except the impeller sometimes got stuck and needed a bit of turning to start after a power outage or shutdown for the Cleaning, this is the first engine failure I've encountered.
