Aquarium Water Clarifier Nitrate Packages Review

These in combination with Tetra Easy Balance Plus allowed me to control the nitrate levels in my aquarium. The nitrate levels are within acceptable limits and I haven't lost a single fish since I started using it.

I have used all 18 filter bags and replaced them every week as directed. I tested my water and there were no significant changes in nitrate levels. If there was a change, my testing didn't show it, so I'm assuming the change was minimal or non-existent. It might work for you, but in my freshwater tank it had little to no effect.

Excellent product. Worked much better than some of the other nitrate control products I've bought. Within a few days my aquarium dropped to 20-40 ppm, not above 150. The water is very clear. Will update if anything changes, but so far it's working great. Update - still works well, will be buying more as I'm almost ready to go out. Use about one to two bags per month for a 55g aquarium.

I'm in my 3rd week which means I've changed the filters 3 times. I couldn't find any significant difference in the nitrate content. This includes weekly water changes. I have these filters in the highest flow zone of my aquarium. This is not like magic nitrate eliminators. I'll give them 2 more weeks and see what's what, but I'll probably try the reactor.

Turns water brown like the tannins in driftwood. Should it happen? Testing the water shows it helps with nitrites which is why I bought it. The fish doesn't seem to care. I have one in each 5 gallon Beta tank and two in a 20 gallon Tetra tank. And the water is a deep golden color, like ginger ale. lol, but chemically it works fine.

I have 3 seawater tanks. I've used it in all three tanks but it didn't seem to affect any of them. Maybe it helped, but I can't tell? The largest tank has the best parameters, and I have not used this product in it for a long time. It won't hurt your tank though, and if it works for you, great. But I didn't see the difference. It gets 3 stars because it's useful if anything, but it's definitely not a breakthrough product for reef aquariums.

I use Algon for aquarium maintenance and by the way the fungal spores on the Algon bag start to smell a lot the first time I use it, it's a dirty tank during the week so make sure it is closed Also, the bag will swell with normal use, so make sure nothing is clogging it. In the case of heavily soiled tanks, a fungus film forms around the bag, which can have a disruptive effect. I was skeptical about buying this product a few weeks ago. I have a 55 gallon aquarium with 4 large ranch goldfish. Nitrate is always over 80 and the color of the water is always greenish because there is algae everywhere. I have used various products before and none of them worked. When I saw Algone water clarifier and nitrate eliminator I decided to try this product although I was quite skeptical. But in my first week on this product the water became clear but the nitrates were still over 80.
