The metal band around the perimeter of the lid will break, leaving a sharp edge that could cut your hand. I bought Boroux bottles to use borosilicate glass bottles instead of Nalgene plastic bottles. Bought 6 of these silicone sleeved bottles directly from Aquasana. The bottles themselves are great. The sleeves are attractive and appear to be of good quality, but be careful when putting them on not to stretch them too much. If you're not careful, they will remain stretched and "soft" on the bottles. Out of the 6 bottles I bought I have 2 sleeves which are "flexible" and stretch too much when applied.
