No Longer Much of a Stabilty Shoe

The latest GT-2000 shoe, 10, is no longer much of a stabilty shoe—the sole bends in half easily by the heel now. Previous versions, the 8 and 9, only easily bent at the ball of the foot near the front. This provides much more support for the arch and foot. ASICS has removed the medial post from version 10, which provided more stability. This latest version is far closer to a neutral shoe now with a very flexible sole. Also, the color isn't black at all but grey. On the upper there are black…

Pros
  • Not very rugged. Not enough reinforcement up front on top
Cons
  • I bought these for my husbands birthday , unfortunately they didn’t feel very comfortable.

Great shoe for my opinion

Product arrived as described. Timely. Not a knockoff and just as if I bought from a running store. Saved me a long drive and gas to buy. Will order more in the future.

Pros
  • I love it
Cons
  • Bulkier than other running shoes in its class

Needs better ventilation

Great fitting and comfortable shoe but it gets hot so if you’re a foot sweater maybe this isn’t the best selection for you. Otherwise it’s perfect.

Pros
  • Good look and feel to the shoe. Right out of the box felt like I’d worn the shoes for a couple of weeks.
Cons
  • Limited ankle support

Comfortable, cushiony

I mostly walk in these, but after some mis-steps with too-narrow toe boxes in the GT-2000 model 4, 5, 6 this model continues the improvement trend without real drawbacks. I note that the heel doesn't seem as deep as model 7 (I skipped 8 and 9) but I have thick orthotics as well. In any event, it's not been a performance problem.

Pros
  • These are great sneakers that were suggested by my Podiatrist
Cons
  • Not slip-resistant enough for certain activities

Great shoe, In this Case, for Walking

Although this is technically a running shoe, I wear it for walking. It is comfortable and flexible. It fit well right out of the box and I walked more than 20,000 steps in them the first time I wore them.

Pros
  • She’s fit perfect so far so good
Cons
  • Too rigid for some users

Falling apart after 3 days

I've worn this brand for a decade or more. I am a nurse so lots of walking on flat surfaces. This shoe started to fall apart within 3 days. Perhaps quality has gone down since COVID19? No excuse for this though. Especially at this price point. I expect better for 120 dollars.

Pros
  • The ASICS fit is consistent over 20 years. That's a great thing.
Cons
  • Show wear and tear quickly

good everyday running shoes

used the previous version, from 2021 (GT-2000 9). Version 09 was 13.5, this one is 13 (there are no 0.5 any more), but it looks as being the same size. Good model, as i see there are some changes done to mesh - it looks a bit more durable compare to 9 version (last year it lasted only for 700 km, which is too little for 100$ shoes). This model looks like 2000-8 from 2020 season - mesh is more solid an looks a bit more reinforcedA tongue of of the shoes has been redesigned - better fixation by…

Pros
  • Love the insoles!
Cons
  • Not ideal for individuals with plantar fasciitis

In a short 60 days, the heel cup of the right shoe failed. I suspected my work shoes were causing the intense heel pain I was experiencing (steel toes on concrete) and bought numerous insoles and solutions to try to alleviate the issue. Only when putting on my shoes today, did I notice the padding of the heel cup bunched toward the ankle of the shoe, leafing the entirety of my heel unsecured and unsupported. Hey ASICS remember when you changed the GT-2000 line and everyone hated them? It would…

Pros
  • So far so good, I will see how long they last
Cons
  • Thick sole can cause stability issues on certain surfaces

Good for lighter runners with mild overpronation

My stats:5 foot 6 inch 125 pound athletic male with mild over pronation in left foot and a little more over pronation in right foot. Looking for a stability road shoe that can handle some trails and is capable of dynamic running styles- meaning any thing from fast walk to jog to run and sprinting on a variety of surfaces and conditions. The shoes are:Good for lighter runners with mild overpronation. Better than the ASICS Men's Gel-Kayano 28 which are too soft and mushy for lighter runners (so…

Pros
  • Great shoes, but too narrow
Cons
  • Crowded toe box can cause rubbing and blisters

Pros
  • Highly recommended
Cons
  • Expensive price point

First impressions good for me

Shoes seem very comfortable (I have a neutral gait). I have the black which look smart but are a bit grayish vs real black.

Pros
  • Great shoes, great service
Cons
  • Not ideal for individuals with flat feet

Whats with the heel?

I have worn some version of the GT, size 10 EEEE for over ten years. I have to say the quality is not what it once was. They still fit great, although I suspect the toe box is slightly less roomy. I am not sure what ASICS is doing with the heel. The inside on the last 3 pair has: 1: worn out quickly, 2: folder and torn vertically, and this pair I almost have to use a shoe horn for all the padding in the heel (not equal shoe to she either). Stop messing with the heel and go back to what it was…

Pros
  • i always get 9.5 but this model runs a bit bigger, does not matter it is very comfortable
Cons
  • May cause blisters during long runs
