Astra Depot Stainless Flip Up Fairlead Review

I bought this specifically to increase the factor 55. The item itself is very well made from heavier steel than another brand I've looked at (tuffy). It was easy to install and extremely durable. I am more than happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it if you have more than one small cord coming out the front. You will not be disappointed with this product.

It will take a few minutes to install but make sure you have the bushings or the plate will bend badly. This product is well designed and works exactly as expected. It looks great and holds the plate while still providing full functionality of your winch. The only design flaw I've found is that they use acorn nuts on the spring clips where your license plate (if you don't use grommets) will be flat.

Excellent winch cover for license plates. It doesn't seem like much, but it's pretty durable. I had an old one that just clamped onto the rollers. Someone thought they needed it and just took it off my truck. Bought because it offers security by being mounted on roller pins. Now nobody can just take it off my truck unless they take the time to disassemble my winch pulleys. Great stovetop holder at a great price.

I ordered this with the classic Viper 12000 winch and luckily it fitted perfectly. I am more than satisfied with the product and it does exactly what I need. A great idea. Note that when removing the pins from the left and right idler pulleys, you must remove the washer from the underside or it will not fit properly and the clamp will not be secure. Once this washer is removed it will fit perfectly. No problems and works like clockwork

2013 F150 SCrew with a 12k Badland winch Very difficult installation. I had to remove the fairlead and clamp it in a vise. Remove a wavy washer from a drive pin to reinstall the C-clip. Just remove both wave washers and save yourself the hassle. Also maybe different sizes of license plate holes in different states but for my case I had to add shims. Worst of all, they hit the bumper when you lift them. The plate is attached to the metal. Better and cheaper options.

The winch was originally built without a license plate plan. I stumbled across this and decided to give it a try. I like the design very much. There is some sizing, but if the rollers are too far apart, it just won't work. I ordered this for my Smittybilt winch without checking the dimensions. I had to use a grinder to lengthen the mounts a bit but it works great. It's a great compromise between functionality and legitimacy (with a front panel). order the right one now!

Great product! Especially for the price. It fits the pulleys on my Badlands winch perfectly, but as expected I had to go to the hardware store to get longer bolts. on each side of each split lock to keep the deadbolt in place without squeezing the rollers and stopping their movement. Also, the license plate holes match my NJ license plate perfectly, and I just reversed the bolts that attach the roller clips so the head is behind the plate and not behind the nut, and that way not on the back of…

The product was a pretty cool looking flip out license plate holder but the license plate mounting holes were offset by almost 1/4 inch which unfortunately rendered the item unusable. To mount my license plate I would have to redrill the holes but they would overlap the existing holes and therefore still not work. It really matched my car/winch which was nice. I was disappointed but things like that happen it's okay just come back. Corresponded several times by email with the seller, in the end
