Description of Astromania 1.25 Inch 7.5Mm 58-Degree Planetary Telescope Eyepiece

Designed primarily for planetary observation (Moon, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn and more) but great for deep sky objects too. Comfortable eye relief averaging 16mm across the series. Threaded for standard 1.25- inch astronomy filters. Wide 58- degree Field of View (FOV) in 2.5mm to 25mm focal lengths. Equipped with an eyepiece barrel which could be rotated for adjustment and a convertible rubber ring for eyes. 1.25" fully multicoated eyepieces give maximum detail and definition across the entire 58 degree field of view. High transmittance and contrast ratio with least lateral chromatic aberration and scattering phenomenon. Each eyepiece has 5 lens elements in 3 groups. Experienced observers will truly appreciate such generous eye relief at significant magnifications. Exceptional at nearly eliminating lateral color aberration and light scatter while retaining excellent sharpness, contrast and definition. Obtain higher magnification with short focal length. It could bring you a better observation experience in a comfortable situation with high-contrast imaging. A cost-effective eyepiece, you will obtain more details that you have never seen before.

Scratched eyepiece for my opinion

This eyepiece came with scratches in the len you don't realize it until you use your camera or you are using your telescope on daylight.

Pros
  • Exceptional Clarity: The Astromania 1.25 Inch 7.5Mm 58-Degree Planetary Telescope Eyepiece offers unmatched clarity and sharpness, making it perfect for stargazing enthusiasts
Cons
  • The eyepiece may not provide enough eye relief for users with glasses

Very nice eyepiece at a very good price.

I find this eyepiece to be excellent in all respects. It is as sharp as much more expensive brands and holds a quality image right to the edge of the field. The physical quality of the eyepiece is very solid and stable. The twist-up feature of the barrel giving you distance from the eye lens is a great feature and there is no sloppiness in the adjustment. The 58-degree field is plenty to offer very comfortable views without being unnecessarily wide. I find it to be just right. Eye relief is…

Pros
  • Wide Field of View
Cons
  • The 7.5mm eyepiece may not be suitable for observing objects at a distance

Excellent (5 out of 5 ⭐ rating for this product)

What I like/recommend about this 'Astromania 1.25" 3.2mm 58°Planetary Eyepiece' is that it works well/great with the 'Celestron Travel Scope 70' telescope for up to 125× the magnification. Ideal for celestial observations of close-up images such as the moon, planets, stars, etc.with this particular terrestrial (as well as used for celestial) telescope!;!;!🔭🌌

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • The 58-degree field of view may lead to difficulty in locating objects within the night sky

Worth $50 and not a dollar over

Honestly for $50 this is a solid overral eyepiece. I actually ended up returning the 2.5mm and opting for the 4mm. Reason being was not enough light was able to come to view and causing an issue with pictures. With a 130/650 I was able to view very clearly Saturn and it's ring with obvious spacing. Jupiter and it's 4 larger moons. I'm hoping with the 4mm I get that same performance with better light or I can try the 3.2 IF I have solid optics. which I probably do not

Pros
  • Made from high-quality materials, this eyepiece is built to last and withstand the rigors of heavy use
Cons
  • May produce visible aberrations around the edges of the field of view

Not the best eyepiece but good quality per dollar spent.

This has proved to be a surprisingly useful eyepiece in relation to the price paid. It has a reasonably large field of view and decent optimal qualities.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Price point was ok, but the quality was inferior. Could not focus in a clear image.

Much better than expected

My original 6mm TMB series 2 eyepiece was stolen last year and I finally got around to replacing it. I wasn't completely happy with the original - it didn't have the focus "snap" that I like to see, and had annoying dancing reflections on bright objects. So I decided to try the Astromania version. And what I got is an excellent eyepiece, with none of the problems of the original. With my 950mm F/7.5 triplet refractor, the 158X magnification is sharp across the field of view, with comfortable eye

Pros
  • Enhances Image Quality: The advanced optical design of the eyepiece enhances the image quality, bringing out the finer details and textures of celestial objects
Cons
  • The eyepiece may not be as sharp as other options on the market
