Holds up well, just won't let go

Grabed rocks in Lake Foster OR just fine. However, I had to dive to free him from the stones. Need a better way to release the anchor when it gets stuck. Although he has held up well.

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Negative impression

Hold on to the rope :)

I'd say this anchor is worth the money. I was able to tie down 2 jet skis and they still held up very well in rougher water. The rope is 1/4 inch but it floats. just hold on to it as i accidentally threw it a few times and it slipped out of my hand :).

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Only available in black

Lost it in some rocks.

This anchor did a terrible job of keeping my kayak from moving in the water. I ended up losing this anchor in the rocks, used it on the river, small waves from the boats were strong enough pushing anchor around I almost got stuck on the rocks where the anchor got stuck. Hopefully a 5lb anchor will work better. Not recommended for large rivers with waves.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • boring packaging

Worked great until it broke (3 months)

I had this anchor for my kayak for about 3 months. Normal signs of wear, has worked great until today. The pin at the end that attached the claw to the rope had come loose. The anchor is now at the bottom of the bay. Very disappointed. Again, the knot was still attached to the metal brace that attaches to the anchor, so this is a defect in the product. I would stay away from this brand. Now I have to buy a new one. waste of money!

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Literally fell apart.

I've used these anchors about five or six times. They usually cause a bit of trouble but the last time I used them I felt myself and my boat start to drift. When I went to pull the anchor to see if it was in the ground I just pulled the rope up and the anchor was gone! The bolt holding the anchor to the clip just came out. I don't understand why there is a bolt that can be unscrewed at all, but the anchor never really held in anyway. Definitely not recommend. But at least I made a rope out of…

Reasonable price

Based on feedback from others, the first thing I did was use stainless steel wire to secure the bolt to prevent the anchor from coming loose from the shackle. You can also use a small zipper or cable tie. I also tied the end of the rope to a carabiner for easy attachment to the boat. I removed a star as I had to tighten the bolt to make it more secure and the locking ring around the anchor rod can slip quite easily. Although this last point is not of great importance.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Unusable features

Don't lose this docking and anchoring gear good

Yes, as the title suggests, be careful not to lose it. Before use, I made sure to tighten the center screw that secures the metal ring to the armature shaft. I've dropped my anchor a maximum of 5 times when I realized I was drifting. So when I pulled on my anchor line, I found that there was no resistance on the line. Yes, the anchor lay at the bottom of the Indian River in central Florida. After a long search I found what I was looking for. But the bolt that secures the rope attachment to the…

Just Re-Tie the Knot

Dear people complaining about this anchor falling off in the water. unless you can look at the product straight out of the box and say that the knot must be tied before trusting it with your weight in running water. You should think twice before operating a jet ski. I untied a plain knot, replaced it with a good anchor knot and used this anchor on my Black River kayak in fast moving deep water and mud and was very happy with the performance. Easily folds and stores, held securely in various…
