Nice tank but the lid sucks! Beware!

The tank looks good, works good, but the lid sucks! This tank is used for my pontoon boat. I noticed a gas leak from the engine. This was because the pressure in the tank got so high that the gas entered the engine! The pressure relief valve in the lid is a joke! I had to buy a new cap

Holds gas for fuel tanks

If I didn't need it I probably wouldn't buy it. This is the only tank that fits on my boat. It's good out of the box, but if you fill it up with gas it pops like a balloon in the sun. The lid cannot be opened properly. Therefore, you must use it with a slightly loose cap. The pressure gauge works perfectly.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Hard to tell

This is a non-vented tank - you need a fuel supply valve for it to work.

Please note this is a non-vented tank and you will need to purchase a fuel control valve to prevent the tank from forcing petrol into your engine as it swells from the heat of the sun. You should offer it as part of the tank or code it as "frequently purchased together".

Pros
  • GOLS certified

good fuel tank for boat engine parts

I bought this for my boat because the original tank was corroded. Haven't used it yet but seems good quality and cheaper than trying to pay someone to replace my permanent cell. One suggestion I would make would be to buy an extra Moeller tank and top vent cap to replace the factory cap as every review I've read says that if you don't bleed your tank regularly it will swell will and eventually cause fueling problems or failure so i saved myself the trouble and bought one to replace the original

BAD PRODUCT! LOTS OF GAS LEAK

As the day gets warmer, gas is forced out through the sensor fitting. Flush and repeat EVERY DAY until the gas is gone! I'm assuming it's irrevocable once there's gas in it. and DO NOT contact the manufacturer for a solution! UPDATE: It's been a little over a month and it's almost half out of the tank and just sitting in the garage. I decided to let my RV generator (which has a mercury plug) run out of fuel and the generator ran for hours and then died from lack of gas. BUT there is about a…

Tank bloating is best at Boat Engine Parts

. Due to the distorted shape after swelling, the fuel gauge does not work. This is a fanless tank and will swell in the heat. Before using the tank for the first time, I replaced the non-vented cap with a vented one from the old tank. I have absolutely no problems with tank swelling and the fuel gauge works perfectly. Excuse the release of gases, but gas from ships' gas tanks must be released. Avoid swelling and damage to the container by replacing the lid with a vented one. Otherwise it's a…

Pros
  • . High marks for support and durability from testers.

Terribly dangerous product. Do not buy.

This is an unvented tank that will explode in the sun (even a little sunshine), causing gas to spill everywhere. It exits the bottom of the black 1/4" pickup and flows through the gauge. Pour a few inches of fuel on the bottom of my whaling ship. The supposed EPA gas cap does NOT work for pressure relief. Run away from this product. .Im Seriously I had a new one and it was only half full of gas. Left my whaler under the seat on a 70 degree day and it exploded like a soccer ball. Tons of…

Need ventilation, but otherwise everything is fine.

Airing is necessary, but otherwise everything is fine. What others say about this is true - not having a proper vent, although "environmentally friendly", is extremely damaging from a practical point of view. My tank didn't blow up like a balloon like others, but it constantly "spits" fuel around the flange where the fuel pickup hose fitting attaches. Not good. And I can't imagine all that pressure being good for anything in your boat. There's no reason why a fuel tank shouldn't be properly…
