Great pump! in a boat

The pump works great as it should, not too loud (other brands of pumps I have are much louder than this) as described in the description. Use this venturi-connected pump to aerate a 30-gallon fountain of life.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Almost everything is ok

Small but it definitely works!

We bought this to finish off the draining of our 18' x 48' above ground pool. My husband somehow hooked it up to our 4 wheeler and it pulled the last 6-8 inches of water out of the pool in about 8 hours. I was impressed because this thing is small! Although it worked great for our purpose!

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Some small things

Design flaw in bracket

Includes latch to separate Tsunami body from mounting base. This allows dirt that has entered the inlet to be cleaned. If you install the base on a flat surface, you cannot press the tab to release it. Worst design I've ever seen in a bilge pump. The plastic base broke and the pump failed.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Nothing

I had to replace a broken pump

My bilge pump never worked. When I rebuilt the boat I replaced it with this one and the circuit breaker. I'm glad I did. When I first started using Livewell aerators I found a serious leak somewhere in one of the lines. It's good that I had it installed and working, otherwise I'd have to swim to shore.

Easy to install - works as advertised!

I bought this unit to replace my 12 year old bilge pump. The old unit was also Attwood, so this unit was a direct replacement. Easy wiring and connection of the pump. This unit seems to pump faster than my old unit even though they have the same rating. I expect the same quality from Attwood and this pump will last for years.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

Small but powerful and reliable, highly recommend

Great product! High quality and reliable! I have used it a few times on my boat and it has never let me down especially when it needs more water for the pump, really good 500gph is enough for the small boat I have! I don't have a leak but this is a flat bottomed boat so water does get in at times but this pump does what they call bad. Buy more for your next project boat.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled

Works well for Jon boot.

I use this to pump water out of a boat that has picked up water from waves or overnight rain. It will pump eight inches of water from my 14 feet in about the time it takes me to get ready and start the engine. So I'm guessing about ten gallons in about three minutes with a length of smooth transparent tubing and about a fourteen inch head. It just walks through the sand and the included grate kicks in leaves or anything big enough to stop the impeller. It does not pump well unless submerged, so

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Have 3. Buy 4 more. They are holding.

I put three of these in the cabin of our boat which is always filling with water as it floats in the shallows of the ocean. One each in the front, middle and back. Along with swimmers. One of the floats failed and has been replaced, but the pumps keep running. Most of the other pumps we have had usually fail. You are in a bad environment. The boat is old and the hull is absolutely filthy. The boat sank three times due to previous pump and battery failures. Luckily the water is flat and the boat
