Get what you pay for

Neck too small for my 115th Engine revs slow. Almost lost twice if it wasn't for the bungee cord to hold it up. Update: After the 3rd use, the plastic broke on me too. Can you only buy plastic spare parts?

Pros
  • Great for me

  • Very expensive

Are you kidding me? best in Boating & Sailing

Complete set made of aluminium, galvanized or stainless steel. Except for the screw on the bracket, it is made of plain painted steel. THIS IS THE ONLY PART THAT LOOKS WITH THE TRAILER!. Will rust in a few months! Genius! To update! A cheaply molded rubber tip broke and hit the car behind me.

Great Sporting Product

This product was purchased for use with a 10hp outboard motor mounted on a small V-bottom boat. I was concerned that the motor might break/bend the boat's transom so I added this transom lockout. In general, the rear header was too long for me, so I had to shorten it. I've been using it for about 6 months now and there have been no side effects from towing a boat/trailer on rough country roads.

My 2nd - BUY AGAIN. but

just bought another. The other worked great. I installed another reel under the trailer laser at the back of the reel itself to accommodate it. The first jammed the O/B motor too low and I stuck wooden pegs in to prevent that. This new one doesn't seem to have the same problem. The first was destroyed when a cast-iron U-connector attached to the end of a trailer struck a speed bump in a parking lot and self-destructed during the 450-mile drive from New Jersey to North Carolina. Unsatisfied! But

Poor quality guides and rollers

Didn't try to install them before the return deadline so unfortunately I stuck with it. First, the manufacturer only recommends them for engines with motorized trim pitch. I don't know if it says so in the description or not, but it should be. I only have manual tilt/trim. Second, they're for props only and won't work if you have a jet engine like me. There really is nowhere to attach. The plastics and hardware seem pretty flimsy for something intended to carry a lot of weight/load. The bottom…

So far so good, needs adjustment and customer service needs improvement

Received this unit yesterday and installed it on my trailer this morning. The instructions were fair, but they need tweaking. Quality appears to be good with one exception, the screw on the assembly has to be either stainless steel or aluminum. Everything is either stainless steel or aluminum except for this part, and this is the only part that has a saltwater outlet for those who boat offshore. In terms of customer support, Atwood only has one number that nobody answers, voicemail only. The…

Does not come with pre-drilled holes as shown - UPDATED

I will not in any way drill my own holes - the product shown comes with pre-drilled holes. Also, it was a short screw. Instructions difficult to read - poor quality. It looks like someone printed with their personal printer and then made a photocopy which has degraded the quality. Bad quality control. Overall looks like a good product once repaired. Updated - I have requested a replacement item. The one that arrived had holes as seen in the picture. But what's even more interesting is that it…
