Note the limited range and power of the USB input.

Looks like the USB recording is skipping. Computer diagnostics says it's a USB 2 device, not USB 3. But it doesn't even work with a USB 2 input on a new Dell workstation. Plays great with USB power and analog input from computer speaker jack with receiver 30 feet away. I bought an additional receiver for the downstairs acoustics. Signal acquisition cannot be supported. I suspect the range is severely limited by a couple of walls and a floor. (It's really a small house.)

Pros
  • Waiting for
Cons
  • Updates

the connection method I use (RCA cable, HDMI, USB port) the transfer is too slow, causing the music to skip. I am completely dissatisfied with this unit and unfortunately it took me too long to return it for a refund - $150 less. It is better to buy a reliable MP3 player and connect it to the player of choice.

Wow! Great product and customer support!

We bought a package with a transmitter and a receiver. We then ordered two more receivers as the first one worked so well and we wanted the music to be played somewhere else in our house. AudioEngine products have been working flawlessly for many years. Then one day, almost 4 years after the purchase, the sender failed. We decided to contact AudioEngine to explore options. Claire, one of their amazing customer service specialists, did the magic and replaced the sender and all three recipients…

They are cut out. Curse!

I bought these W3s to wirelessly connect my new AudioEngine A5+ to my new AudioEngine S8 subwoofer. First, they lacked a mini RCA jack, which is needed to connect the W3. Imagine! Although all three components are AudioEngine and are supposedly designed to work together. I've been listening to my system for two hours now. The subwoofer is less than 20 feet from the "transmitter" which sits just 3 feet below the A5+ on the bookshelf. The base usually sounds great and works almost great, but…

Perfect fit for remote subwoofer

I first looked for a wireless subwoofer kit and didn't even think of looking for a regular (full spectrum) wireless audio adapter. Then I bought this Audioengine W3. This is exactly what I needed to share a home theater subwoofer with KRK VXT4 mantle speakers. The W3 adapter doesn't need to be configured, just plug it in and they're paired. One of them is marked as the sender and the other as the recipient. The sub sounds great, I see no difference to the cable. The USB plug comes in handy as I

Great wireless device!

I received this a few days ago to solve a dilemma of how to get the sound from my Yamaha Disklavier Mark IV piano to a Sonos based whole house sound system. It works like a champ! The 100 foot transmission distance is shortened by the walls and structure of the house, so be aware of this fact. However, we were able to set up the receiver in the basement and connect it to the sound system via a cable connected to the receiver. The transmitter is easy to connect to the piano's CPU USB interface…

Good for casual listening

The W3 is a nifty device that can wirelessly connect almost any device to another (most likely powered speakers). If you mainly listen to MP3s and especially pop/rock, this might be the perfect device. With more complex music, however, some details are lost in translation. When running A/B W3 versus outputting it directly to my receiver, I noticed a noticeable "centering" of the stereo sound and therefore an effective loss of stereo separation. It's something you might not notice unless you…

Finally audio throughout the house without cables - only

For several months I have been looking for a solution that will allow me to have sound for the whole house without cables. You won't believe how easy it is to do. I'm a techie and have tried everything else. Setup couldn't be easier. No dropouts and perfect sync/no lag. What struck me the most was that someone so small could do it. I have a 2000 square foot house. For my setup, I have a WDLive media player connected to my NAS via an Ethernet-over-Power device connected to my receiver. So I can…
