Expensive but great product

I used this when I installed a new touchscreen head unit in my 2016 Chevy Express 3500 passenger car. He retained OnStar, Chimes and RAP. The hardest part of the install was removing the dash, but this kit made the wiring a lot easier. An adapter for the antenna was included. Since I don't have steering wheel controls, this kit gave me everything I needed for wiring. Good product, the price seems too high but I don't know of a better alternative.

Pros
  • Good to use
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than others

There may be a quality control issue.

Hate is a strong word. so I will refrain from using it. I was very disappointed by the fact that this was a direct defect. Lost fading function in the radio. and when I turned the key to ACC the sound only came out of the front right tweeter of my 08 Silverado. only after the car is fully started and after a delay of 5-8 seconds other speakers turn on. After speaking to Pioneer and a local installer, we concluded that this was the module. and the instructions are not clear.

Disappointing quality and service

I bought this item for my 2010 Silverado P/U. About a week later, I had a problem: when I unlocked my truck, the radio just turned on and wouldn't turn off until I turned it on. Then the radio wouldn't turn on. After trying a few things I pulled the radio fuse that must have reset the thing and everything worked again. I've encountered a few issues, all related to this item, and resetting with a backup fixes it every time. (at least for a while) Problems are so common that I always remove the…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Purchased to hook up a Jensen JV7020 to my 2012 GMC Sierra. After carefully studying the schematic, reading the instructions, long plugging in the Jensen connector and soldering the connections, I had no OnStar interface or connectivity when installed in my truck. The SWC interface, which I purchased separately from Axxess, also does not work as advertised. I unplugged everything, double checked all connections, double checked per the instructions and reinstalled with exactly the same result…

Pros
  • Turn signal horn output
Cons
  • No power

Not very happy with Metra (AXXESS) customer support

I bought this and into a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. When I finished the insulation I found that everything worked perfectly, but one thing: the radio didn't always go off when I got out of the truck with the ignition off. I contacted Metra about this and they confirmed that I need to update the software. I ask if I can get the old stack from AMAZON and they said no it has the latest software that is on the shelf but they have a new update to fix the problem. when they asked me how and where to…

Pros
  • Interface to replace aftermarket OEM radio receivers in 2006-2008 non-amplified GM vehicles that use the new GMLAN data bus system
Cons
  • Can't remember

The strap did the job. There's really nothing to complain about, except that the module is a bit clunky and takes up a lot of space. Unfortunately I chose to order the product in an open box as it is half the price of new. Item was in very good condition but not in the original packaging. Well, that was either a complete lie or gross abuse on the part of whoever verifies the returns. The wiring harness was cut, modified, there were no original documents, all the wires had plugs for a call from…
