Ideal for boat trailers Accessory

Used to attach a boat transom to a trailer. Works great, loved the safety locks on the ends of the hooks. I ordered my first set for $16.90. I liked it so I ordered another set but the price went up to $20.59.

Great Product - Sports

Great Product! We used it to tow the kayak over hilly terrain and highways. No stretch. I liked that the straps come with Velcro for attaching additional straps and coated clips and protective material behind the buckles to protect the paintwork on your vehicle.

Cons
  • Definitely Bad Product

Easy to adjust, hooks bend a little

The straps are easy to use, I use them on the back of the pontoon tube. However, if you tighten them and then fold the metal tab down, the hooks will bend. I'm not saying they flex because they don't stay a little stretched when you let go of the strap, but you can see the strap hooks flex if you don't let the cord slack a little.

Not So Reliable: Boating

After towing my boat 120 miles to a fishing spot the tether slacked a bit, when I got back home it slacked a bit. I don't feel very safe. This never happened with the previous bracket I had for 2 years but the bracket metal left scratches on the boat so I bought this new one. If it keeps shaking while towing the boat I'll look for another one, maybe pay a little more for better quality. Total security is more important than money.

Cam is slipping, hooks are already rusting

I ordered these to replace aging transom straps for my boat and boat trailer. Upon arrival I noticed that the hooks were less durable than the set I was replacing (the hooks on the new straps are thinner). The band itself is like the smooth material of a seat belt, which bothered me a bit because the cam bar was smooth and didn't have knurling to grip the band. The cam handle was also less durable and much thinner than my original. Also, the seat belt on the back of the camera is barely wide…
