Lantern is small and light weight. Low setting gives a lot of light. Also has high and strobe settings. I'm a crossing guard and carry the lantern on dark mornings so cars can see me.

Very bright and works well. We bought these for use outside but ended up keeping them as emergency light which they are perfect for and bought something a little less intense because these can hurt your eyes. Still a good buy.We even bought a few extra and sent to some family in the pacific islands where they get blackouts a lot.

Needed some portable lighting and this worked out well. Fortunately I had some D cell batteries so was able to use immediately after installing them.

I like all the aspects of this lantern. I have no issues with installing the batteries - just be certain to put them in facing the correct direction and be sure to align the pin in the guide hole, then the base swivels on with ease.The weight with D batteries is a bit heavier than the other AYL lantern I have, but this makes it stable. I like very much the quality of the construction and the attitude of the AYL company. I recommend it highly!

I've looking for a very good emergency light. This is it. I had others, but none compares with this one. Best in its class by a long shot.

Had trouble opening to put batteries in,(arthritis) ! Trouble reding instrruction sheet because print is small and shinny paper does not help with print.Looking forward to having it to grab when needed in emergencies.

I just wanted a reliable working emergency light yet others were flawed in reliability and either did not come on because of bad contacts or bad designs and were glitchy !This light is worth what you pay for it !It is 2021 and i find flashlights will not work reliably or cut on without flickering ?Design and contacts are poorly done by cutting corners but not on this light !This light is outstanding !

The lights are very bright considering how small they are. I'm very happy with these. I'm in New Orleans and praying I don't need them! 🙏

Having worked for a high-end flashlight manufacturer for a number of years, I am very aware of lumen outputs and runtimes.I purchased the Starlight 700 to be used specifically as an emergency light for power outages, I am impressed with the sturdiness, versatility of use and compact size of the light and most pleased with the variable lumen output and runtimes.Fortunately, I have not had to use it - yet! But I am confident, it will fulfill my expectations.

I feel this lantern is "slightly" brighter than my Coleman and other generic Asian brand lantern that's flooded Walmart, however it's not necessarily worth paying 3x's the price for the little bit of extra brightness.Pro:1. Just received today. Initial observations: Love the compact but sturdy design.VERY bright! The D-Cells give it enough weight to be stable and not easy to turn over. First, I love the lanterns. I now have three. I lose power often in the winter here in rural Montana, so your lanterns don't just provide light but provide adequate light for me to read. Our lights went out during a recent storm which gave me an opportunity to use this lantern. It performed perfectly! It’s very bright and after placing one in our family room and one in the kitchen there was plenty of light coming from these 1300 lum lanterns to curry on with family functions. This lantern is a lot brighter than I thought it would be, I love it. As with all 3 battery lanterns, one cell will be placed backwards. Pay attention to the little stickers for batty direction. With a little practice you can remove the battery end piece very quickly. Will be buying another one soon. I am using some 10 amp 1.2 volt rechargeable batteries I got here on Walmart. Works great. I am very happy with this light.

I’ve had so many camping lanterns over the years. These are awesome! Can’t believe how bright they are for being so small. They’re lightweight too, which is perfect for our (already heavy) glamping box.

First thing I noticed was how heavy it is even before putting in 3 C batteries. It feels like you could drop it and not break. Took it to a cabin with no electricity. It was bright enough to light the 15-20 x 10-ish room. It’s small enough to pack. This is worth the $
