Works Great: Camping

I bought this with the TOPEAK trunk bag, drilled a few holes and screwed it to the adapter using the hardware that came with it. Now my Topeak trunk turns on and off and snaps right onto my luggage rack.

Ideal for adapting a regular bike bag to the MIK system

I bought a bag which I liked except I had to use velcro straps to attach the bag to the rack. With MIK system adapters I can now attach my bag with one click. More comfortable.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • poorly thought out

There is no security with this adapter

This is a non-lockable adapter. The mik system is not secure. The concept of "keys" is misleading at best and is a blatant scam. As a simple spring-loaded click adapter, that's fine, but there's no security. Beware.

Pros
  • Everything is ok!
Cons
  • Security

Easy to use - Camping

I love the MIC system! I have 3 different bags/baskets that I use on the back shelf. I installed a MIC carrier plate on my rack. I use this MIK adapter on several different tail bags to easily change them. Also, this system makes it more difficult for your shopping cart to be stolen when you are shopping in a store.

Pros
  • Doping 🔥
Cons
  • Very expensive

Works with Bontrager MIK C-Pillar

Works as expected. Like the previous reviewer, I bought a Bontrager MIK rack and didn't like the MIK compatible rack bags on offer. Bought another trunk bag, drilled the appropriate mounting holes in it and attached this adapter. Fits well on the shelf. This adapter allows you to select almost any rack bag, as long as you have or need Bontrager's integrated MIK rear tray.

$100 saved on trunks and panniers

When I traded my old bike in for a new one, I still wanted a trunk. Unfortunately, my old Trek replacement rack didn't fit the new bike, it only worked with the MIK system. So instead of spending $130 for a new MIK bag, I reworked my old spare bag, which I really like. By the way, you only need to remove one screw to take out the spring and clip. The rest of the equipment can remain. It was a bit painful to drill through the fabric to install the four screws. But it seems more than certain to…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation

Will not work with most quick release panniers

I ordered this to attach to a collapsible shopping basket for use with RockBros bike shopping baskets. Unfortunately, the design is so wide that clip-on baskets cannot be used with it. Plastic blocks for attaching baskets. According to the instructions, only bags with a fabric strap that goes through the top of the trunk work with this system. Also, the key function is useless as you can just hand press the button to remove this panel as shown in my picture above. I really wanted to use this…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not the best

MIK adapter plate under accessories

Works great on my bike with MIK rack. I was able to choose the bag I prefer and attach it to the bag fairly easily (I added a thin luan board to reinforce the bottom of the bag). Buying the bag and adapter plate separately was cheaper than buying a cheaper bag with the MIK adapter already installed. The only thing I don't like is that I can't put the key on my bike keychain and it fell out somewhere in my bag. Unfortunately, a large-tipped screwdriver is enough to remove the bag from the rack…

  • Not bad

Converting almost any bag to a MIK luggage system

Bought to adapt an old Traverse trunk bag to a new MIK rack (Bontrager BackRack as mentioned in several other reviews); The bag was still in great condition and fit for my cycling purposes, so I saw no reason to upgrade to a MIK bag for around $130 when I could just buy an adapter plate for a fraction of that cost. Installation instructions are included for assembly. either in a bag or basket but I found it pretty obvious without looking at the instructions. My method was to attach the adapter…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No performance
