I have 2 800mA outdoor units and 2 old metal batteries that charged cars, motorbikes and alternators for 5-10 years. This HE outdoor unit worked for a day and then started blinking amber, green, amber, green and no output voltage. Tried two different batteries, same thing. Very disappointed with this product. I've attached a few photos which may not clearly show the problem. Excuse me. 1) Alligator clips are NOT attached to battery with side connectors as shown. I really like these Battery Tender Plus models. I'm guessing they're almost foolproof (reverse polarity protection, won't drain battery during a power outage, don't spark when Live Clips are connected to battery, auto shut off if battery is shorted or under 3V.). The Vette has an Optima AGM battery and when it sits for 2 weeks the voltage drops so much from parasitic discharge that it just clicks and won't start.
