Easy way to mount my Garmin nüvi on my Harley

I ride a Harley lowrider without 12 volt outlets. I've always wanted to put my Garmin nüvi on a road bike. This cable and connector is a great solution to this problem, especially since I already have a BatteryMinder connector that is permanently attached to the battery. This cable is long enough to reach from the battery to the steering wheel and runs between the engine and the fuel tank. The only problem with this setup is that the power is always on, so I have to remember to turn off the…

You go? You need!

If you drive and have a cell phone, you must have this. Most of us are already using SAE connectors on our battery tenders, but without "looking up" you're probably driving. That means you probably have a cell phone or sat nav nearby, right? This gizmo solves some everyday problems for us drivers. Plug this outlet into your bike's Tender SAE socket and charge! I actually use mine for steering wheel GPS. That's incredible! Also, I can avoid modifying my bike with my own sockets. Note: If you…

Simple and effective

There are no simpler products and this is reflected in the price. it (most things). I have a 2x USB charging adapter (fused) that I'm using and it works fine. I connected it directly to the battery using the same connector as my charger. The main disadvantage is that whatever you plug in there has a spring to keep it in contact and this will eventually cause the adapters to vibrate. (I had these things insulated in a tank bag and they still fell apart even though I drive a tamper.) Duct tape…

Thin wire, not for 5 to 7 amp applications

I bought this with the intention of using it with an inverter from an 18 amp battery for a power system I am installing with my SUV for camping. I noticed that the cables were very thin with this product and in fact 30 seconds after trying to use it with an inverter the cables were already overheating. I later bought essentially the same thing from another manufacturer's Revain that is rated for 25 amps with a much thicker cable that only costs $9.99. So note that this doesn't apply to anything

Good product - Cigarette lighter part is a bit loose

I bought this to use on my motorcycle to start my CB radio. I was able to plug it in where I would normally plug my Battery Tender and then use the cigarette lighter to plug in the CB radio. It works well, although my CB's plug is a little looser than I'd like, causing it to occasionally lose connection because it only comes out slightly to break the connection. I think I can fix it by sticking it on as soon as I turn it on and it should work. Otherwise the whole idea is great and I can use it…

I order a second one. Sizing and installation tips

Got one of these on my cruiser and am ready to add another to my sport touring bike. A few things to note: First, there are NO mounting hardware on this unit. The outside of the adapter barrel (1.055" OD on the main barrel) is covered with a plastic material so you can grip it securely with the right clamp. However, there is a larger diameter section at both the top and bottom of the barrel, so you can't just press fit it into the hole - you need something that goes around the main body of the…
