Will not fit 1988 Toyota pickup

I ordered this for my 1988 Toyota pickup. It didn't fit. I called the manufacturer and they said they don't make it for my year. I was able to remove the steering wheel lock lever from the old one and drill a new hole in the housing for the lock pin and it worked. You have to dismantle both locks.

  • Cool item

Great item at a great price

Perfect for 85 Toyota 4Runner. Fast delivery, came in a box. I removed the speaker covers, pulled out the old one and put in the new one. It was snug and has an anti-rattle tab - a snug fit is good. Nice smooth feel. The key no longer falls off. Beck & Arnley have always been great. $180 at your local parts store, $29 at Revain, which you may not like.

Ignition Key and Toggle Switch

I received a Beck Arnley 201-1422 Ignition Key and Toggle Switch and was trying to fit it into my 1987 Toyota Pickup which I was told would fit. Unfortunately, the metal rod that protrudes from the back of the mug is 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer. The overall construction of the glass was identical to the original glass, but it was too long to fit.

  • Impressive

  • Faulty

Fits my car kit 1985 Toyota Truck Key Case

To remove these drops you have to turn the key to the assc position to insert the pin. I didn't have a lock with a key, the blacksmith wanted $145 to make one to fit my old shield. switch. It was with him on his bench! So I ordered this glass. If you don't have a key to gem. you inserted a screwdriver into the key slot and turned it to the Acc position. The key that came with it, after a bit of trial and error, flipped the old toggle switch and saved me a lot of time working with the new…

Perfect for 1987 Toyota Pickup!

Fits like a charm, works like a perfect replacement for my ignition which blew out when my truck was stolen. It's running again, couldn't be happier! I had to build a ghetto because my ignition broke, but it helped. very hard to find. I had to look for a replacement tubular shaft from another '86 pickup owner who had an extra one. Good luck finding the piece! The firing arrangement is simple, the running rod is not very good. I will be posting a video on YouTube soon to show how I fixed mine…

  • I look forward to

Toyota 88 pickup does not fit.

Not suitable for 88 Toyota Pickup The pin is closer to where the key is inserted. I bought a derailleur for 120.00 from Adv Auto. The same so I returned it. I've searched everywhere, couldn't find one with a pin in the right place, so I ordered this cheap one and just drilled a hole (the place to put the cylinder was marked on the body), the cylinder slid in, the Button popped up through a new hole I had drilled and it worked. Problem solved. Strange, I couldn't find a match. Checked 84-89…

Easy to swap out and works great.

Installed on my 1985 4Runner. My old cylinder was so worn that I was able to remove the key while the engine was running (which honestly came in handy a couple of times), but for peace of mind I decided to finally replace it. Toyota charges about $110 from the dealer. When I removed the original cylinder I couldn't tell any difference between them, the metal in the new one looks fine (not quite grainy but smooth). The buttons, although not very good, are fine. Since then, Beck Arnley may have…
