Check threads before cutting pipe

This filter works well. I installed it with a 3/4" male thread. Most people wouldn't be able to install it that way, the threads were too big, but as a toolmaker I was able to screw the threads deeper and get it to work.

Manufactured with high quality but a lot of back pressure.

I bought this as a line of defense for our hot tub recirculation system. While it definitely gets the job done, the extra back pressure it added to the system put unnecessary stress on the system pump so it switched to a different brand.

The instructions are not in English

I think I've figured out how to install this filter, but there may be nuances I've missed. I was able to achieve a watertight seal without teflon tape, but teflon tape improves the installation. I only use it in the washing machine. With instructions in a foreign language (Asian characters), I can't make out what the metal is made of - brass, lead, etc. Without knowing the composition, I wouldn't recommend it for drinking water.

The machined outlet is only 1/2 inch, although it has 1 inch adapter 🤷🏼‍♂️

Filter fits 3/4” and 1” pipes but no. The exit ID (the machined part in the posted image) is only 1/2 inch. I was planning on using this to filter the main Pex string with an ID of 1" that feeds my Viega mana block. Instead I will simply use it to filter out the sediment on the 3/4" ID that feeds my water heater. My only concern is that the filter outlet will restrict water flow to the water heater. I plan to update this review after installation and to see if it works or not Note: I use my own

Replacement Water Filter Inspection Ports

Not sure but the threaded ends don't match our regular 1/2" threaded ends. Trying to fit this into a PEX line and the 1/2" to 1 PEX adapter /2" thread is not suitable for anti-leakage. Tried 3 to 5 wraps of teflon tape, 6 to 10, then even double gauge teflon tape. Installed it tightly, then 1/2 turn at a time to see if the dripping had stopped until I could tighten it.I was never able to get rid of drips from either end which leads me to believe it wasn't just a bad connection because neither…

It's hard to win. Well made, cheap, easy to assemble!

Great device! I don't have a well. We have city water, but I still wanted a pre-filter as I also rerouted some pipes (remember that? lol). I have very little space to work, so I used flexible boiler hoses instead of traditional pipe connections. I have arranged the two connection options you have in order (left image). I used the one shown on the left to work with 3/4" hot water hoses. I also used three turns of 3/4" Teflon tape for their connection, not the water heater hose. Opened the water…
