If you want it to output power through the docking station's built-in cable, which allows you to connect the docking station to your laptop/tablet, etc. Do you know the Thunderbolt 3 power adapter that comes with your MacBook? It's only 30 watts. So unlike any other USB-C dock, you can't just use your laptop's power bank, plug it into the dock, and then plug the dock into this machine. Has anyone experienced a shrill whistling noise when switching on? It makes me crazy. The rest works without problems.

For example, I need another 3 inch cable so it can sit right under the stand of my laptop and also reach the port and plug into the USB port on the back. Of course this is just my setup but I remember reading other people saying similar things before I bought it and I have to agree. Otherwise it works as intended. I can connect all the peripherals I need, plus an Ethernet cable, to my MacBook with two ports on the left.

If you click on this thing, it turns off and HDMI stops working. The cable is disconnected at the slightest movement, although it is still connected. USB ports almost never work. I think the latest OS patch (Macbook Pro 13' 16gb 2019) from Mac disabled Thunderbolt 3. It can still do everything, just not at the same time. I need to connect the power cord directly to the laptop and not to the docking station, otherwise the device will not connect displays to monitors. Poor Thunderbolt 3 dock I bought one of these to power my 27" Dell 2K 165Hz Razer Stealth 13 (Early 2020) monitor. It cannot maintain a stable connection via HDMI or Display Port. Despite what others have reported, I bought it to run 2 2K monitors. I just thought since 2 4k monitors were announced others must have been doing something wrong. I was wrong. If you connect both monitors through this device and the laptop's Thunderbolt port, you will not get any images. I tried connecting a single monitor docking station via HDMI and an external mouse via USB, but it couldn't handle the 65W input from the PSU. As a result, my MacBook runs out of power very quickly when I try to dock it. Send it back immediately.

I received the device and it works great. Life made easier WFH. Now, 10 months later, both USB ports are not working anymore. That's a bummer.

Not a bad "doc" for your car. With Power Delivery, it's great. This gives you a decent number of ports and Belkin also has a line that lets you increase or decrease the price and ports. Everything works with this dock. It lost a star due to fan noise.

It's a well-made piece, except for the 4-sided design, which doesn't lend itself well to cable management. It doesn't work well with my MacBook Pro and I've had a hard time getting it to work consistently. I usually like Belkin products but this was a failure.
