After over 20 years of storage I've pulled out my mid 70's B&H 981Q cube slide projector to see if it works. When my Bell and Howell slide projector started to fail I found the prime mover was the culprit. It requires quite a bit of disassembly to access and remove the worn gear. So keep an eye on what you remove and where it goes. My online search for a Revain replacement part was quick and easy and the new part worked great. One more thing, you'll need to adjust the meshing between this gear and the gear teeth on the carriage's carrier so that there is no binding, but this is easy. Glad to know…

I recently pulled out an old Bell & Howell cube projector to sort, resize, display and maybe copy slides. I was glad the bulb was still working. Unfortunately there is no projector. After looking through a fairly simple looking tutorial on You Tube, I found that the most likely culprit was a plastic final drive gear.
