Price, Quality for Grinding Wheels

I had factory aluminum rims with peeling paint. This removed enough material to clean it. Also bought 2" felt pads. Used them to buff the finish and clean the wheel again.

Pros
  • SILICON CARBIDE GRAIN: These wheels are made of silicon carbide and are intended for light finishing of metal, wood, composite materials and satin aluminum.
Cons
  • Weight

Must be in every store!

Amazing abrasives, the only company that makes a roll version to compete with non standard 3m wheels but very cheap! Much better than a surfacing disc as it can be used on the edge and will always show new grit as it wears down and can be used down to the substrate. A must have for anyone working with metal. Provides a stunning finish.

Pros
  • SAFETY: Wear all appropriate protective equipment (eyes/ears/face/hands/body, etc.) when using these discs.
Cons
  • Periodicity

They work reasonably well but lose strength after a minute or two. They will still work until they fray, but their texture is softer so after the first 2 minutes they buff rather than cut/sand. Someone said they thought they would last forever. I'm not sure what they use them for, but removing light rust from the sheet metal wore mine out in about 10 minutes.

Pros
  • DIMENSIONS: Each disc is 2" in diameter and has a male R-threaded post.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Aluminum Polishing Best Tool for Finishing Power Parts & Accessories

I used them for second stage polishing of aluminum fuel tanks and dump truck wheels. This truck is 30 years old, it was a road tractor but was recently converted into a dump truck. Tanks and wheels were milky, watched videos on how to polish them. They worked great and I'm still using the first one! That means I've used it on two 100-gallon fuel tanks and two front wheels and it's about half worn out. Used with an angle grinder.

Pros
  • QUANTITY: Select a grit (fine/extra fine) and you will receive 10 discs of that grit.
