I love this yarn on my review.

This yarn is so soft! I made my friend a baby blanket with it. It is too thick to do really fancy stitches with, but if you are looking for a yarn to use for simple projects, this is perfect!

Pros
  • The yarn's quality is top-notch, so your finished product will stand the test of time
Cons
  • Limited availability of pattern options specifically designed for this yarn

Big and bulky on my review.

The skein/yarn is bulky as advertised and more so. The site recommended using a size L crochet hook, but that didn’t work for me. I’m using a 15 mm or P/Q. I might go bigger.

Pros
  • It’s Great for blankets -really soft and comfortable
Cons
  • Not suitable for summer or warm weather projects

Love this yarn! for my opinion

I love this yarn for making a blanket. It's a great color scheme, and the weight is fantastic for the blanket I am making; appears that it will last for a real long time and will definitely be worth snuggling up under during the winter.

Pros
  • Economical big ball size
Cons
  • Not recommended for use with certain fabrics (such as silk

Great for Crocheted Reusable Water Balloons

Not only is this yarn perfect for blankets but also reusable water balloons! It is exactly what I need and use to crochet them! Holds the water perfectly!

Pros
  • Super soft and wonderful to work with
Cons
  • Not recommended for use with certain needles or hooks

Makes for a beautiful baby boy blanket

It took some getting used to working with the thick yarn but I love the outcome to much to stop using it. The outcome is worth the time and energy. As far as price, although not always unreasonable, you can find the prices more reasonable at Michaels, especially during the many sales and coupons.

Pros
  • It is perfect for beginners and advanced crafters alike
Cons
  • Limited information available on its environmental impact

Favorite yarn this year!

Great for blankets. It washes really well and it’s so soft! Don’t buy for more than $10 a skein though, it’s not worth THAT much! *Yarn pictured is same blanket yarn, just a different color way.

Pros
  • Yarn
Cons
  • Limited flexibility

Soft and Workable/Hit or Miss

EDIT: I just received my 2nd order; this time in the color "Coal", the yarn was poorly manufactured. It looks stripped, has multiple knots, and tangles very easily. I worked to untangle the yarn for an hour, and still haven't fully untangled it. I would say be careful when ordering this yarn online; it will be a hit or miss.Overall, this yarn worked up very nicely. It provided a very soft feel for the design and is nice and thick. A bit expensive for what I've seen in other places, but they had

Pros
  • It is perfect for crafting cozy and warm home decor items
Cons
  • May not be suitable for certain types of scarves or shawls

Same great quality, inaccurate color

The color is darker than one would expect from the photo+color name. It's much closer to being a normal medium-dark brown rather than the kind of lighter grey-brown you might think of for Taupe. Same excellent Bernat quality with a good softness and thickness however!

Pros
  • Crochet Gauge: 7 sc and 8 rows with a 8 mm (U.S. L/11) crochet hook
Cons
  • Can be challenging to create even tension

Pretty in pink. on my review.

Don’t just look at the word "pink” and think of baby pink. It is somewhat beige. Very soft, however, and will work up nicely, I believe.

Pros
  • This yarn is perfect for creating blankets, scarves, hats, and stuffed animals
Cons
  • Can be challenging to frog without losing the stitch count

Softest yarn; larger than the ones you find in store

*excuse the animal glitter lol*I freaking love this yarn! I always hated most yarns because they felt scratchy, but this one is sherpa-level softness. I never had a color transfer problem, and I found using one size smaller in needle actually makes the stitching look tighter so the imperfections and knots can be hidden well.I found this at JoAnns originally, but when I ordered this I found out its twice the size of an original ball of yarn! Which isnt bad, I like having extras anyway.

Pros
  • Bernat Blanket Yarn works up so quickly that you can make an entire project in a weekend
Cons
  • Can be challenging to join or seam together

Wonderful yarn for my opinion

This yarn is the most softest and easiest to use of any I've tried. Make a mistake and you can hardly tell it. Best ever yarn

Pros
  • Love the color of this yarn...
Cons
  • Limited yardage

Not purple - more reddish burgundy

I personally love this yarn but it is important to note, regardless of the name of the color, there is nothing purple about this yarn. It is dark burgundy red. I have used this same bernat yarn in other colors before. I used this to make a very thick warm scarf, which it is really nice for. It feels soft against your face. I've also used this yarn in other colors to make a large stuffed pumpkin, which is pretty fun.

Pros
  • Bernat Blanket Yarn is trusted by millions of crafters worldwide
Cons
  • May be too stiff for some types of pillows or other home décor items

Wrapped in plastic best in my review

I like bernat blanket yarn! All of it is great to me! It is thick, soft, and cozy yarn. There are so many color to choose from. I ordered black and the color is beautiful, and bright nothing dull about it. I like that it was a bigger ball of yarn. It was wrapped in plastic to protect it and such a good price!

Pros
  • Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Cons
  • May not be as soft as other yarns

Beware: This Yarn is Addictive!

This has been my go-to yarn for making couch/nap afghans for myself and my grown kids. Bernat blanket yarn is always reliable; so soft and spongey and very easy to work with, making it perfect for beginner crocheters. As an added bonus, it works up at lightning speed compared to worsted weight yarn, thanks to its heavier weight. Unlike some yarns, your blankets can be easily washed and dryed without issues, which makes it perfect for the cat mats I’ve crocheted for my kitties (who love them!)…

Pros
  • The softness of the yarn is unparalleled, even compared to other plush yarns
Cons
  • Limited availability of color combinations

Gorgeous, soft yarn for a baby blanket!

I crocheted my new granddaughter a blanket with this yarn. It is so beautiful and so soft. I love the color! I haven’t crocheted in years, and this was super easy to work with. The blanket will truly be an heirloom my granddaughter can keep forever!

Pros
  • The yarn's thickness is perfect for creating robust and sturdy projects
Cons
  • Can be challenging to create consistent stitches

True to color, soft & warm!

1 of my favorites for making supper soft blankets! The light teal is true to color, and matches great with the Tidepool Bernat color.I really wish Bernat would give info on the actual colors used in their multi colored yarns. (So you can match other colors to them, when you want more then 1 color in a project.)

Pros
  • Great yarn made a beautiful afghan for my daughter out of it.
Cons
  • Not suitable for delicate projects

Compare before you decide to keep.

Needed more of this yarn to finish a project, but when it arrived, it was not the same shade of pink as the exact same skeins of yarn I had bought prior to this at Jo-Ann’s. It was too vibrant compared to the last skeins.

Pros
  • Bernat Blanket Yarn is exceptionally soft, making it perfect for snuggling
Cons
  • Can be challenging to work with in tight spaces

Softest yarn ever! on my review.

Absolutely love this yarn! I bought "North Sea” to make a lap blanket for my 19 yr old grand daughter. But as I was crocheting it started to look like blue camo. When my grandson saw it he loved it, so that blanket became my grandsons and I bought a different color for my granddaughter. 2 blankets down, 10 to go! 😁

Pros
  • Color was exactly as pictured and shipping on time
Cons
  • Can be too thick for certain stitches or patterns

One More Use for It

I have the most unusual use for these: I clean my bicycle drive train with it! Yes, it is strong enough that it goes in between the cogs and remove any gunk accumulated. I use it once or twice a month to keep them clean and to reach a place I cannot any other way. I know this review is not going to help most but maybe you can find another usage for it as well.

Pros
  • The yarn is great to work with and looks nice when done.
Cons
  • May contain knots or inconsistencies in the texture
