a little high but works fine.

Slightly larger than other filters I've used so it doesn't quite fit my humidifier. Update: After running my humidifier with this wick for two weeks, it far outperformed many of the other options I had tried. I've had to turn my humidifier to a lower setting to prevent it from emptying the bin throughout the day and so far it hasn't shown any signs of slowing down like many others I've tried that have cut their output by half over that period or less. In fact, after two weeks, it outperforms…

If you need it then you need it, it does the job.

If your humidifier uses this type of wick filter, then it's a must. I bought this type of wick filter from two different manufacturers and they are identical. I would just buy whatever is cheaper at the moment. I usually buy 2 or 3 of these at a time so there is less chance of running out if I need to replace one. The only recommendation is to fully submerge them in water or rinse under a cool tap before first use. This allows it to be better absorbed for you.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Good overall, but...

Better price and longer life with a few small issues

That would be perfect. IF the price is amazing it lasts forever and is way better than flimsy ones that fall apart after a week or so and cost more. But he has some problems. This made the water in the tank look blue which wasn't very hygienic and the metal mesh didn't look rusty but kind of rusted. It lasted longer, lasted longer and the price was right, but I'm not sure if it's really the best choice. I will continue to use them and change the water in the tank before it gets too colored.

Not intended for wet use.

It had a very strong warehouse or industrial smell. No odor odorless previous filters/wicks. I decided to try anyway, after 3 days of use I noticed yellowing of the entire filter. It actually smelled worse and looked older than the branded 40 day old filter it was supposed to replace. I will not buy again. Notice the colon. I don't think this was a manufacturing or design defect. Rather, this particular filter material is not designed for this type of wet and microorganism-rich environment…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Please see update

I was tempted by the price and reviews but after 2 weeks of use in my Honeywell humidifier the filter turned yellowish brown which to me means it's not good enough, even if he were free. I used the more expensive Honeywell filter in the same room for over a month and it didn't even turn light yellow. with the addition of a bactericidal agent, these generics may suffice, but I'll stick with Honeywell's trusted filters. UPDATE Apparently I had a bad filter. A few weeks later I added another…
