The quality of this product is clearly not good. I wasn't impressed! This product is overpriced for what it is. The rods are small and the product is not as strong as I would like. One of the photos they posted in their description shows square bars, which is not true. The product comes with instructions printed on the packaging.

I bought this to hold the heat lamp cover for my crest and it does the job. I wish it was a bit bigger as my hood is quite large and barely fits between the tank (18x18x24) and the top of the stand. It was also a little tricky to put together because the parts kept falling out trying to screw them in, but once I put it all together it worked fine.

Exactly the second product I bought. This is NOT the same product. The original stand has square bars that sit securely in a square bracket that attaches to the base and tightens. The new stand has round bars, under the base there is a screw to fix the bar, it is not stable at all and does not tighten. One of the clamp screws that attaches the angle bracket does not go deep enough to hold the bracket in a stable position. Very disappointed!

I don't know why it has bad reviews. I was a bit hesitant to order this based on the comments, I even ordered "used" because it was a bit cheaper. The thing works absolutely perfect! Yes, the screw on the bottom isn't flush with the base, but it can be easily attached with another screw, or just put a few layers of tape over the screw. It's on the underside of the base so no one will ever see it. I would buy them again and recommend them to anyone who needs to hang a lamp over their pet.

Lamp holder glued between carpet and tank. The bottom screw that holds the stand in place does not sit flush so this is clearly not a quality product made to high standards. It gets the job done, though, as long as you don't place the underside of the stand on a hard, flat surface that you care about - think of a slightly protruding protrusion in the middle.
