Easy to install and works as I hoped

I installed them on the back of my truck (2014 Single Cab 4x4). Easy installation and works as I had hoped. The truck is much quieter on bumps, feels more stable. I also installed a Bilstien 5100 in the front.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Hard to say

Better than OEM: Shock Absorber

Installation was a little $#%. Installing the top bolt on the side of the fuel tank took the most time. If I were an acrobat, maybe it would be easier. Finally, I used a 21mm crow's foot and a 3/8 ratchet with no handle. Success! Is the pain worth it?

5100 shocks on my 2018 Ecodiesel

Amazing shocks since my Ecodiesel clocked 31,000 miles with stiffer stock shocks. Changed to Bilstein 5100 and runs better than new. The stock shocks when I removed them had very slow rebound and about 2-3 inches of deadzone.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Easy install great ride with lift

Put these on when replacing Bilstein 5100 front stays on my Ram 1500. Used 2.8" stanchions and a 1.5" Motofab rear spacer. Very close to the level with a small additional elevator. The truck drives great with it, almost a series feeling even with a lift

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Nothing here

Quality pays good shocks, struts and suspension

Quality units that raise the rear of my truck almost 2 inches. 09 - Real rear shocks on the Ram 1500 are tricky at the top no matter what shock you buy. A crowfoot or open-end wrench is required to remove and install the upper retaining bolt and nut assembly. Bad design on the Ram side.

  • good stuff

Surprisingly long installation due to Ram design.

Installed on my 2017 Ram 1500 CrewCab 4x4 Ecodiesel. The funny thing is that these rear shocks took longer to replace than the front struts, even when the front springs had to be compressed. The shock absorber nut is also not easily accessible from the driver's side. And removing the inner fender also takes a lot of time.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Highly recommended Good for shock absorbers

Installed on a 2010 Ram 1500. I wanted a stiffer shock as I carry my toys around quite a bit (quads, mowers, sometimes a car) so I bought this shock and it has mine Ride much improved. , softer and more responsive kick. This shock does NOT have coil power over the shock, but it's pretty close, at least I think so. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a stiffer shock than ranch or stock.

Cons

Dramatically Improved Driveability

Ram Ecodiesel 4x4 2014 Installation was as simple as removing the top and bottom bolts, installing the shock absorber and reinstalling the bolts. I had air shocks that stopped holding air and noticed a knock when riding on rough roads. It turned out that my air shocks had bottomed out, causing rumble and giving terrible ride quality as well. Those shocks didn't add much lift to the rear of the truck (about 1/2 inch), but it's definitely a quiet, smooth ride now. Very good product.

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Older Model

Difficult Installation

If you are planning to install it on a Dodge Ram. some hints. You will need to remove the plastic wheel well covers with a wrench or 5/16 inch socket wrench. They also suck to try reinstalling them. Then purchase a short 13/16 inch upper shock nut wrench, impact sockets, impact gun or ratchet. A 21mm socket and wrench for the bottom nut and bolt and finally a jack to lift the bottom of the shock and try to position it in the bottom so you can insert a bolt to secure it. A 3 pound sled can alsoโ€ฆ
