I use it for mask straps. It doesn't stretch, but it's easy to tie and keep on a bow. Looks like a tip. It does not fade or spread in hot water.

If you've ever worked in the live event production industry, you'll be familiar with this material. I've bought this reel whenever I need line for something around the house. It's good stuff, just like what you use in theaters. It's an unglazed fabric which gives it a matte cotton look, glazed slings hold a knot better but I prefer the clean feel of unglazed and just make good knots ;-)

Excellent Tie. Black synthetic core with a woven face made of solid cotton (see photo). Cotton not waxed or polished - matte black finish. I use it as a control cable for flying PA, as well as a cable wrap and storage cable. general theater use. As it has a synthetic core the ends can be subjected to a fire to prevent fraying - see photo where I rolled the heated end between wet fingertips to give a nice unfrayed end for tying XLR cables .
